Been really nice the last couple days. The nights have a definite chill.
Last night when I was taking my before-going-to-bed walk, I had to wear a heavy sweater. And the wind was b l o w i n g ! We get some pretty hearty winds here.
The rising moon was HUGE. And orange. Thin clouds slightly obscured the face of the moon. It was altogether beautiful.
The walk to shul and home again was difficult. I don't have a whole lot of energy. I think hospital stays have something to do with that. Have an appointment with my doctor on Monday. Will talk about medications, exercise, COPD and irregular heartbeats. I think I can handle it all except the exercise bit.
Oh, yes, and diet. The hospital doctor and the nurse both suggested that I review my eating habits and institute some changes. Oy! I guess ice cream and oatmeal cookies and Butterfinger candy bars are going to be strictly rationed.
I have to admit that the hospital's low fat/low salt diet was quite tasty. I could live with that. Strange thing, though: my potassium level was low. And I have a banana every day. The high glucose can be explained by Butterfinger candy bars.
Oh, well. I need to lose weight, anyway!

- From:Allimom (Legacy)On:Sun Sep 10 2006During my pregnancy with the twins, I was taken off salt towards the end of the pregnancy. It was torture as I LOVE salty foods. I took to seasoning my meat with pineapplejuice and garlic powder. It wasn't salt, but it was pretty tasty!
Alli - From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Tue Sep 12 2006Dearest Chaya,
Ah, I am so sorry to hear that your diet will be restricted from now on. I hope you are still allowed small portions of your favorite sweets from time to time. My fave candy bar is Bounty. Never could resist coconut.
I have been facing problems trying to send you e-mails from my work computer. All my lovely interesting pics and mail to you get returned to me with the cryptic note: 'blocked due to abuse'. Do I abuse your e-mail facilities, dear Chaya?
Love,

You just take care of yourself, and be well.. walking may be difficult. but I think it is good for you..
