Plan B didn't work, eitther
Wed Dec 24 2003

Yesterday, I tried to send my letter to Kimberly from Word to DD, but nothing worked. I thought today that I found a way to do it. Nope. That didn't work either. So I'm retyping today's entry I wrote in Word. Good thing I printed a copy first, yes?

The day has been drippy off and on. Typical December here. Rena is still here, but she'll be going home after we've visited Allen for the last time. The next time I see him will be in the cemetery at the unveiling of his wife's headstone. Then he'll be heading for Maryland. He'll be much happier there surrounded by loving family.

The computer died sometime last night. Rena has been cranky without access to her games and chat rooms. I checked all the connections, and everything seemed all right, everything plugged in correctly. I even swept behind the desk while I had it pulled out away from the wall. Nothing seemed to work.

About an hour ago, as I was thinking of going to bed, I though "What the heck..." and pushed the start button. B'gosh and b'golly, the thing turned on. However, as I was signing in my second password, I got a message on the screen that the system had recovered from a serious failure. Gave me a "send notice" or "don't send notice" to MSN choice. So, I clicked on "send notice." Seems to me this outfit has been acting up when I try to do two operations at the same time. Only lately, though. Didn't used to have the problem. I don't know enough about the internal workings of computers to have even the faintest idea about what the problem is.

I'm concerned about Ozone and Duke. Ozone hasn't written in several days. Has anyone heard from him? Duke probably had to have surgery, and maybe Ozone hasn't had time (or desire) to write lately. But I wish he would.

Oh, someone asked how I manage to collect so much mail. Well, I subscribe to several newsletters, and I read several diaries, and if I don't check a couple times a day, I get backlogged. And on Sabbath weekends, when I'm not on at all, the stuff REALLY piles up! And I still have a bunch to get through.

Happy Holidays to all.

    Dear Chaya,
Awww, you are so sweet to think of Pops and Duke. I have been thinking about them too. Well, he's on the mend now, and boy oh boy, aren't we glad!
Hurray, you've got your internet connection back! Rena must be one happy girl!
    Love,
    E.L.
