Noting in particular
Thu Apr 28 2005

The thunderstorm that was predicted didn't materialize. It'll probably hit about the time I pick up Harry for his haircut. It was cooler and windy today, clouds coming in, but no storm.

Got a check for something I'd forgotten was owed me, so I put it in the savings account. I can plan a big bash and still have money left over. Gee, that feels good.

Read a book today. Actually, I started it last night and finished it this evening. What I should have been doing was going through all the boxes of stuff that need to be sorted and trashed.

Been taking a trip down memory lane. Some years ago I bought a set of music of the 40s and 50s, mostly 50s. Four cassettes of great stuff, starting with Memories are Made of This by Dean Martin. In fact that's the title of the set. Right now I have the Ames Brothers on. "The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane." Cute song, great rhythm, fine voices. No yelling, squalling, boom-boom bass guitars. Just good music, all. Later on there'll be Pat Boone. The fourth cassette is all Nat King Cole. I'd like to have the whole set on a single CD. Then I could have the whole thing on one disk. Only problem with that, though, is that I wouldn't be able find a particular tune, which I can do with cassettes.

Some of you who read me are going Huh? Who they? Kiddos, you just don't know good pop music.

Well, it's late, and I need to get up early to get Harry to his barber in the morning. I spend a lot more time with him than I anticipated when I offered to be his chauffeur(ette).

G'nite.

Shalom
