Six Weird Things Meme
Sun Dec 24 2006

THE RULES:  Each player of this game starts with 6 weird things about you.  People who get tagged need to write a blog post of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rule clearly.  In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names.  Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Six Weird Things About Me:

1.  I sing/talk to myself.  I don't just talk to myself.  I sing whatever I have to say to me, particularly when I'm giving myself instructions.  I also "scat" to entertain myself.  I sometimes sing myself to sleep.

2.  I carry on conversations in my dreams.  In that not-quite-asleep, not-quite-awake state,  I also "handle" things.  For instances, I feel my hands reaching out to pick up something, or smooth a piece of cloth.  All the while carrying on a conversation I remember when I'm fully awake.

3.  I am acrophobic, afraid of heights, but I took flying lessons, soloed in a small, single-engine plane.  Positively refused to take the parachute, crash-landing instruction.  No way am I going to jump out of an airplane.

4.  I read newspapers and magazines back to front.

5.   I'm a wordaholic.  I love words.  I get lost in a dictionary.  A half hour later, I've read about a dozen words, and maybe forgotten to look up the word that originally took me to the dictionary.  I savor words.  I roll them around in my mouth, feel the texture of the syllables.  I love words.

6.  I hate ketchup.  Do not ever offer me ketchup on anything.  Yuck.  (But I love tomato soup.)

And as a bonus: I never watch TV comedies.  They aren't funny.

I too read them backwards...glad this wierdiness is so "oddly" common ;-)
Now, look what you've done with your tagging: I have to do the hard work of picking 6 out of my 37 wierd things to display in DD :-( Trust me, not an easy choice...;-)
    hope you're having great time!

Now that reading back to front would drive me up the wall, Now talking to one's self is not only healthy but keeps us in line.

i am so weird that it would be easier to find 6 normal.. or maybe not..
    I hate these games..
    1) I opted to change the rules and list my strange self here
    2) I talk to myself, but have never thought that strange.. I understand myself better than most anyone else..
    3) I am a great seamstress.. Took a tailoring class years ago.. and I won't hem a thing...
    4) I keep finding sacredness in everyday stuff.. Time.. Music.. Dance ... words.
    5) I believe we can enter into relationship / contracts with rocks, water, mountains, all things
    6) I am not tagging anyone... I am doing kody's school work.. While he is building a jeep...

Am I strange or just a bummer???
I can only be weird on the last day of the year .. publicly weird.. i guess

I like your ways of being weird, especially the dream things. Never heard of those, and they're really cool.

I do the same thing with dictionaries. I love to just sit and read them, and looking up words usually takes a lot longer than it should, just from being distracted by all the surprising, lovely, interesting words I didn't know about. yum.

And you sing yourself to sleep. wow. Wish I could do that.

RYC: Two husbands. Yeah. Guess I forgot to put that on the weird list, which has to be weird all by itself! I'm married to RC, and handfasted to Bruce. It's kinda different, but so far (five years now) it works. Thank God, because I don't think I could ever give either of them up.

    Hugs,
    Ani

Wow, that really is some pretty weird stuff. I talk a lot in my sleep, with my eyes wide open, but I don't remember any of it when I wake up and my friends report that I've been talking in my sleep.

As for your question about the ink, you shouldn't have to shave the ink bar. You can get calligraphy ink from any bookstore. I won't send you a bottle because it might break and stain the batik painting set and what-have-you I want to send you.

As for the little doggie, Joy, due to media pressure, the construction company involved has agreed to pay for the dog's medical expenses and reconstructive surgery and they have also made a contribution to the animal welfare charity. Sort of like a sin tax.

Joy is fed through a tube right now but will soon be able to eat again if the surgery goes well.

Thanks for your love and concern!

    Love,
    E.L.
