Put flannel sheets on the bed, with some non-help from Missy. I finally had to put her in the pantry. Such howling you never heard!!! She figured out how to get out of the bathroom, so I had to find a more secure place for her until I could get the sheets changed.
This cat loves to play hide-and-seek under the covers. Much like her brother, KK, and just as aggravating when I'm trying to be industrious. As soon as I got the bed all neat and tidy, I let Missy out of the pantry. She shot out in a blur and headed straight for..yep...the bed. She couldn't burrow under the covers because I put the pillows across the head of the bed, specifically so she couldn't tear up the bed.
Those flannel sheets are so comfy when the weather cools. Of course, I have an electric mattress warmer, but the flannel sheets just seem to say warm, cuddly comfort. In the first place, they're not smoothly cool when I first get into bed. I don't need to find a spot to warm up.
Still having trouble sleeping. Need to call my doctor's office and make an appointment, and see if there's something else I can use to overcome the twitches. Sometimes they're so bad I actually hurt. A couple nights ago I was lying on my back trying to relax, when all of a sudden, a spasm hit me, lifted my shoulders and head right off the bed. Now, I can't do sit-ups. Not at all. So you might guess what a spasm that was. And I'm so worn out from fractured sleep. Sometimes even the Ambien can't overcome the RLS, and I spend half the night awake and walking the floor. But I hesitate to use it on a regular basis. Don't want to become dependent.
Good thing I don't have to go to a job.
A day and another half day of rain. Sunshine since. I wouldn't mind the winter if it continues that way.
Got my confirmation to Tucson on the 21st. Will be spending a week in the Arizona sunshine. Well...maybe not all sunshine. This is their monsoon season too. But Sis has a HOT TUB. That will take the place of the bathtub with hot water here. And it's a jacuzzi!!!
Now I have to remember to get my neighbor to look in on the cats while I'm gone. Note to self: Remind her that Missy and Banshee are depending on her.
OK, I'm done.
Shalom

- From:Yetzirah (Legacy)On:Mon Nov 06 2006It must be so tiresome to deal with the leg thing all the time. I used to get a mild case of that for about a year. And it is so irritating!!! Besides the lack of sleep.
Could make a person a little grouchy eh??? - From:Dananarama (Legacy)On:Wed Nov 08 2006Tee hee....Missy messing up the bed sounds like something that would be enjoyable to watch, provided of course that it was not I who had just made it :)
you know, I saw a doco the other day on sleep disorders. One woman 'twitched' in her sleep - it boiled down to Post Traumatic Stress. And another guy had restless, jolted sleeps due to over stimulus before bedtime (Chocolate, caffine, tobacco etc) have you thought about going to a sleep clinic or something?
MMMMM...sunshine is awesome....I love being warm - have a great time in Tucson :) - From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Thu Nov 09 2006Dear Chaya,
Sigh! I wish I lived next door to you, then I can help you look after your babies and you can rest assured that they are in good hands.
I am sorry your restless legs are still causing you sleeplessness. And yes, I do agree that it is indeed helpful that you don't have to get up early to go to work in the mornings! What a ray of sunshine you will be then... not!
Missy is a darling! I can so totally identify with the howling. When I confine Pixie to his room, he starts his plaintive crying and high-pitched meowing that have the neighbors running to see if I were slaughtering a cat. When I put Chloe in her room, she mutters and growls to herself but is okay and not sulky when I finally let her out.
Both kitties love to 'help' me with the housework. They lie down on the sheets when I am changing sheets, they wad up and roll in the dirty laundry, they sit on the newspapers and they unravel toilet paper. Still, they bring us all so much joy and laughter.
Amber doesn't have any mischievious ways. She is a darling angel doggie.
Have a safe and pleasant trip to Arizona! When will you be back, pls? I'll be sending you something by certified mail and I want you to be home to collect it so you wouldn't have to drive out to the post office to claim it.
Love,
E.L.
