The Sacramento County road repair crews have been working on my street the past week or so. At night. Big, bright lights in the middle of the street. All kinds of noisy automotive equipment.

When I went out this afternoon, I was traveling on a street that had been roughed up, washboard-y. I guess that's preparatory to laying tar, or something.

I'm glad they've moved on up the street a few blocks. I'm not sure what they've done tonight, but it involved some big pounding. I mean BIG! I could feel it when I was sitting in my recliner, and I'm the third building in from the street! With deep, thrumming noise along with the pounding.

There's a truck in the middle of the street with whirly lights flashing into my living room, but the big arc lights have moved on about a half block. One night the arc lights were shining into my bedroom, and I don't have drapes. The vertical blinds aren't very effective in keeping out lights--bright or otherwise. That must have been one of the nights I went to bed in the am instead of the pm.

Don't I live an interesting life??
