They have arrived
Wed Apr 16 2008

The kids are in Oklahoma City now.  I talked to Gryffan late this afternoon, and they are exhausted.  The only one who is bright and cheerful is Deirdre. She enjoyed the airplane trip because she was held and played with and was the center of attention the whole trip.

Gryffan roused me at 3:33 am, and 25 minutes later we were headed for the freeway and Sacramento International Airport.   I put  on a bathrobe over my jammies because I planned to go right back to bed once I returned home.  And I did.  It was co-o-o-ld out there in the wind.  I got out of the car just long enough to open the trunk.

I did go back to bed and slept until almost 10:00. Then I went and vacuumed the apartment the kids had vacated.  Made a backache.  Came home, sat down to read the paper and fell asleep again.  Been going around in a semi-fog all day.

The cats mostly ignore each other.  Missy and Windigo have a ways to go before they have any kind of a relationship.  They got along fine when Windigo was a kitten, but she's a big girl now and accustomed to ruling her roost.  As is Missy.  Banshee and Moose mostly ignore each other.  They're mild-mannered fellows, and I don't anticipate any problems with them.

But now I have two litter boxes to tend to.

I'll think about that tomorrow.  I'm going to bed now.

Bless

Aww. :-( I'm so sorry they've moved away.

As for their cats, will you send them by air at a later date, or are you stuck with them for good?

Glad to hear they got there safe and sound. The kitty dynamics will work themselves out eventually, say 3 or 4 years from now *laffs*

RYC: The ugly building in the background of the pic is Mason Temple Church of God In Christ (whatever that means). They are the ones that the dogs don't EVER bark at. Their members NEVER disturb us during Sunday services even though there isn't adequate parking in the church lot, which has them parking along the fence to my back yard. You never hear a peep out of the place. I've been in there once to give a bid on cleaning the pews. Other than that, I've had no contact with them.

As to the tree. It will eventually get about 8' tall with a similar spread and it's supposed to mature in about 5 years. Right now it's at about 6' tall with a 5' spread.

    Talk to you tomorrow!

Get the kids to buy you a Roomba or a Scooba! They have energy efficient models now. The robots will vacuum and wash your floor for you. All you have to do is make sure everything is off your floor. Then you won't have a backache, see?

Maybe if you sprayed some Comfort Zone in the cats' play areas, they would settle down and not keep getting on each others' nerves. Just a suggestion. It might work.

    Take care.

    Love,
    E.L.
