I'm really trying to write something every day. I think I need to start musings earlier, because by the time I started thinking about the day's entry yesterday, I was so tired I couldn't have written a coherent sentence. So, here goes a recap of Wednesday.
I ended up keeping Caitlin for six and a half hours yesterday. It was my understanding that it would be something like a couple hours, three at the most. And I clearly remember telling Lynn that I was going to Toastmasters at Noon.
What I don't remember is hearing that Lynn was taking Nicole for further testing that same day when she was finished with her interview.
Why did I have Caitlin? Her school is taking President's week. Not President's day. So she's been out of school this whole week. Nicole, on the other hand, has been in school all week and loaded with homework. Public school vs private school.
I can't think of another thing that happened yesterday that could explain why I was so tired. I'm getting that way now, so I'd better start typing fast so I can talk about Thursday, today.
OK, so I woke up. And found blood on my pillow. Nosebleed? Nope. Would you believe Earbleed? No pain, no fever. I marched myself to the bathroom mirror to see what I could see. Well, some dried blood. Quite a bit, in fact. When I got it all cleared out of the part that you can see, I took a damp Q-Tip and gently swabbed just inside the canal. Took four Tips to clean that.
After I finished my morning tea and got dressed I went to the hearing clinic and asked for someone to check my ear. After a few minutes, the audiologist called me in, and checked the ear, and agreed, yes, I probably should go see my doctor, and get a referral to an Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) specialist. She called my doctor's office and got me a "work-in" appointment for 2 o'clock.
I've been trying all week to get into the lab to get blood drawn, and had planned to do that without fail today. But there wasn't time to get there before they closed from noon to one o'clock, so I went to Trader Joe's and got some bananas.
It was raining pretty hard when I got on the freeway, so I was in the slow lane going about 55. Crazies were speeding along as if it was a bright sunshiny day and no traffic. Tch!
The nurse-practitioner saw me and agreed that an ENT visit was in order. Since I have to go back tomorrow for a regularly scheduled visit, I'll pick up the referral then. I will be seeing a Dr Ow. Yes, that's his name. Appropriate for a dentist, but not hardly for an ENT, wouldn't you say?
I still didn't get to the blood lab, because by the time I started home, it was getting too close to my chat time with my sister. Maybe tomorrow.
Stay tuned.
Bless

The only time I ever had an ear bleed was when I had a horrible flu right after I got married. I was so sick. After a couple of days it settled into my ears and I had the most painful ear infections of my life. I ended up with perforated ear drums and a bill for an ER visit. It was really awful.
I hope this is quick and easy to get over.
(((hugs)))
Infection?
I pray all is well and easily cured.
