I usually lock the front door, but this afternoon I didn't, and probably didn't shut it completely. I was reading in the living room when I noticed the door was open. Open!? When I went to close it, Banshee was on the patio walking toward the door, and I'd swear with a guilty look on his face. I don't know how long the door had been open and where Banshee had been, but he did have a walkabout. And here I thought he was sound asleep on my bed.
I finally took a dip in the pool here. It was a bit cooler on my feet than my finger when I tested the waters. I got my feet in then sat on the edge of the pool and splashed water on my legs. Watched an impromptu, sort of, water polo game while trying to get used to the water. I kept moving down a little more, but when the water hit my "delicate parts," I decided to sit on the edge of the pool for awhile longer. Finally, taking a deep breath, I plunged into the water. *sharp, indrawn breath here*! But after a couple laps the water became much warmer. Funny how that happens.
I set the alarm to go to the gym this morning, and suddenly realized it's SUNDAY, you idiot!! So I went back to bed and slept until 11:00am. Made up some for the lack of sleep during the night. Last night was not a good night. For some reason, the temperature didn't cool off as it usually does, and I had a fan blowing directly on me. Just as I was relaxed and almost ready to fall asleep, my foot started twitching. Then my leg (never both legs together--they take turns). Finally my whole body was twitching. I'm about to the end of the list of medications for Restless Leg Syndrome, and still haven't found one that works consistently.
However, I can relax and fall asleep in the daytime without a problem. Is it a problem with The Bed? At Night? One night I was aching really badly, and took a Vicodin along with the RLS med, and was loopy for 24 hours. Guess I won't be doing that again!
And on the subject of sleep, I'm ready to give it a try.
G'night and....
Shalom

- From:Yetzirah (Legacy)On:Mon Jun 19 2006That is SO not fair to be kept awake by twitching muscles. I have experienced that myself and it is just maddening.... grrrrrr!
Same thing about the daytime sleeping. What is UP with that?????? - From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Mon Jun 19 2006Hope you slept well!!

peg - From:ImNotLisa (Legacy)On:Tue Jun 20 2006I'm jealous of your pool. I think I said that already but it bears repeating. ;o)
I hope you slept better last night!! - From:Camomille (Legacy)On:Tue Jun 20 2006The restless leg syndrome has got to drive you bonkers! I know I have a bit of a sunburn and just the itching of it is driving me wild.
82 degree temps in the pool - arrghhhhhh way too hot! I have to admit though I do enjoy sitting in a hot-tub on occasion especially during our cold winter months. However, I think I will definitely keep my cold water temps. I actually do enjoy it! I guess that's from being raised with it.
That is especially lucky that Banshee was returning home when you noticed. That would have been scary not to know where he was! And I suppose this means he likes his cat food alright.
Pleasant dreams . . . - From:Camomille (Legacy)On:Tue Jun 20 2006The job I had at fourteen was in an icecream shop on the waterfront. It was fun, and everyone working there was my age. We had to wear old-fashioned long dresses with puffy sleeves. I was just happy I didn't have to work in the creperie (sp?) where they had to wear little black dresses that looked like maids outfits with short skirts! I think that is the sort of thing E will do (the icecream thing). She has a babysitting certificate and has tried to find someone to sit for but no luck. I guess it is good as it does teach reliability, responsibility, being a part of a team and how to work for others. I USED to be good at that . . .
- From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Tue Jun 20 2006Ooh, I was of the impression, from reading your latest entry, that your insomnia was drug-induced! I hadn't realized that the drugs were to help you keep the twitching under control. Sorry about that!
Looks like Banshee took himself out for a walk, he did, the clever boy!
Love,
E.L.
