Marian and Trish came to visit yesterday.
Trish is waiting for confirmation of her original RN license in Arizona, so she can get one in Nevada. Seems the information went astray, and her Nevada temporary license has expired, so she's on (involuntary) unpaid vacation. She says the ER keeps calling to ask her when she can come back to work.
So, since she has all this free time, she suggested that her mother fly over to Reno and visit awhile. Sadly, Marian has a bad cold, a very red nose (hey, Rudolph!), sneezies and coughing. So she sat across the room, I gave her a large box of tissues and a bag for the used tissues.
We talked and talked and talked, and Becke came over and we talked and talked and talked some more.
Later Trish suggested that we might be interested in food, so we went to Fresh Choice and had humongous salads. Well, I had humongous salad. And tapioca pudding after. Two helpings.
Trish was making noise like time to go home, but I suggested she wait until they would be guaranteed a view of the Valley as they were going uphill to Reno. Which they did, but I haven't heard back.
No chatting with Marian until she gets back home, so if I remember, I'll ask her if she was properly amazed at the view. Which is gorgeous.
So I gotta go over to the shul and pay my money for the first Passover seder next Monday.
Catch y'all later.
Shalom

Nice to be able to catch up a bit. - From:Waterspriteflying (Legacy)On:Wed Mar 28 2007It sounds like a very sweet time. And good food on top of that, lol.
RYC: Chester is Angie's little brother. She's the young woman who now takes care of Meggie while Mel's at work. I took care of them from the time Chet was 18 months and Angie about 8, until they were 7 and 14, but I see Angie often. Chester and I haven't seen each other in at least 15 years. (I thought about putting that in the entry, but I was trying not to be too wordy!)
Hugs,
Ani - From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Mon Apr 02 2007Poor Marian! Sure sounds like allergic rhinitis to me! Please get well soon, Marian!
If I come to California, please take me to Fresh Choice too. Lunch will be on me.
Lots of Love,
E.L. - From:Camomille (Legacy)On:Tue Apr 03 2007To attract hummers you would probably have to put out a hummingbird feeder, along with some bright (especially red) tubular type flowers. They like trees (especially pine) nearby to fly off to for nexting and safety. We only have one variety here, and only for part of the year. You probably have different types in your location. 'If you build it, they will come' applies . . . you might try it and see what happens. Do you have a plce for a trumpet vine with red flowers?
