I have just become a fishmother. Not to be confused with fishwife, please note.
I now have a female Molly to take care of. Her name is Peach. So far the cats haven't discovered her presence. I doubt that Banshee would be much interested, but I'm also sure KK would be extremely interested, and not to Peach's benefit. Her tank is on the kitchen counter, and the cats are not allowed on the counter.
KK argues with me about the counter, but if I yell loud enough he pays attention.
Oh, how come a fish? Short story. Megan has found homes for her other fish, but she reserved Peach for me. Why? Because at one time I had a bunch of fish. Three aquariums full. And she thought I would enjoy having another fish. *sigh*
Some sad news, and requests for prayers of those who pray.
My niece, Tricia, has a lump in her breast. It is malignant. She's having an MRI tomorrow (Tuesday) which will determine if she has a lumpectomy or a mastectomy. A mastectomy would put her off work for a longer period of time, but the chemo following the lumpectomy would take time away from work, too. Without pay. And she has bills, as we all do. So if you would have a word with Himself upstairs, we'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Spring is trying her darndest to put in an appearance, but the rain clouds just don't stay away. There hasn't been any measurable rain in this particular part of town, but the clouds and the sun are having arguments. I'm giving some serious thought to Tucson for a spell if the weather doesn't shape up here.
I'm trying to come down with bronchitis again. Have a message in to my doctor about an antibiotic. In the meantime I'm spending a lot of time in bed, drinking lots of water, and running to the bathroom. Think I'll make a hot toddy and go read my mail (snail-type).
Shalom

- From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Tue Apr 25 2006Dearest Chaya,
That's really sad news about Tricia. I just said a prayer for her and will try to remember to pray again for her recovery tomorrow morning before I go to work. I wish I could do more.
Congratulations on being a mother to Peach. I know it isn't easy raising cats and fishes together, so I extend my sympathies to you. Let's hope Peach hangs in there. My friend Ee-Wen's goldfish died after being startled by her dog. So it's not just being eaten that Peach has to worry about. Any sudden leaps and jumps from her feline siblings could trigger an acute myocardial infarction.
Please get well soon.
Love,
E.L. - From:Calichef (Legacy)On:Tue Apr 25 2006I will keep Tricia in my thoughts and prayers.
Peaches safety will be in my thoughts, and so will I be wishing for KK's best behavior.
It sounds like you've got your hands pretty full.
Love,
~Cali - From:Dreamerbooks2003 (Legacy)On:Tue Apr 25 2006Using the library computers.. It is hurry up and wait.. I really wonder what is going on..??
I'll probably end up getting my 'puter fixed, but also changing servers and all..
It is strange
Sorry to hear about your niece.. prayers going her way
also about you not being at the tippy top of your game either!
I sure know the feeling..
I see my dentist tomorrow
I'm going to tell him about those steroids ~ and how badly they messed me up
So. we have also had more rain.. and yet when it warms up, it gets positively hot in this apt.. Not surprising. since the insulation is nil
So in their brightness.. (they, being the apt owners.. have begun putting new roofs on BEFORE the swamp coolers are fixed...
so far they have done 2 across from me.. Only another 100 to go.. the manager said to look to sometime in July to get this done.. and perhaps in early August for coolers..
WHAT?? August??
Oh man.. I have a years lease.. and then I'm moving again
Grrrrr
Hugs to you.. Get feeling better real soon!!!
Squeeze some lemon in your water..
peg - From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Wed Apr 26 2006Many prayers for your neice. As much as it hurts sometimes, I still come up with the premium for my disability insurance and AFLAC cancer policy because I never want to have to make a treatment decision based on how long I'll be off work. The sad thing is that it's too late for your neice to get those policies. Now that she's been diagnosed, she'll have to be 5 years cancer free before she can even apply and the premiums would be pretty steep at that point *sigh*.
Best of luck to her and we will be thinking about her. - From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Wed Apr 26 2006How are you feeling today, dear Chaya? Has the hot toddy helped? I'll bet it did, alcohol always does. Don't worry about me, I don't have a drinking problem. I have it all under control. I limit myself to 5 drinks a week and if I say I won't drink on a certain night, then nothing can tempt me otherwise. I'm not one easily tempted or swayed. It's okay, dear heart, I understand and appreciate your love and concern, and I want to reassure you that I will never be an alcoholic.
Lots of Love,
E.L. - From:TraumaMama (Legacy)On:Wed Apr 26 2006Sorry to hear you are sick again.
Good thoughts towards your niece.
And...what is this about Megan and Portland? I will have to go back further and read.
