The ultimate accolade was presented. Miki the cat actually came out and visited. Now this is a very antisocial, neurotic cat, and she does not like strangers. I guess she decided that the voices sounded like nice people, and she came out to get acquainted. She stayed near me most of the time, but I think she especially liked Sue's Mom.
I don't know what all we talked about, but there was no lull in the conversation. It was like friends getting together after being apart for awhile. Sue's mother (Barbara) has a sense of humor, quiet, but very funny. She had me smiling. Of course, she had trouble getting a word in edgewise, cuz Sue and I were chatting a mile a minute.
Once you get off the freeway it's pretty much a straight shot to my place from one street to a right turn onto my street. But I forgot to tell Sue about the three streets that come together and one point. And wouldn't you know--she took the wrong street. However, the street she took would have eventually gotten her to my place, but it was a little more difficult to give those directions.
I suggested that she stay parked where she was and I'd come get her, but I managed to talk her to the landing strip. Oh, yes, we've both flown airplanes, and we chatted about that, too.
Ah, it was a lovely visit. I'm so glad to have met another DD friend. I had intended to feed them, but Barbara said she wanted to take us out to dinner. Who am I to turn down a meal I don't have to fix????
So, TraumaMama, have a safe trip home. I'm sure you can find your way back to your place from the airport. *snicker*
Lovely day. Wish it could have been longer.
Shalom
