TraumaMama and Mom
Fri Nov 21 2003

Had a wonderful visit with TraumaMama and her mother. I won't say anything about what Sue told me about her practicals and written exams, as that's her story and I won't spoil it.

The ultimate accolade was presented. Miki the cat actually came out and visited. Now this is a very antisocial, neurotic cat, and she does not like strangers. I guess she decided that the voices sounded like nice people, and she came out to get acquainted. She stayed near me most of the time, but I think she especially liked Sue's Mom.

I don't know what all we talked about, but there was no lull in the conversation. It was like friends getting together after being apart for awhile. Sue's mother (Barbara) has a sense of humor, quiet, but very funny. She had me smiling. Of course, she had trouble getting a word in edgewise, cuz Sue and I were chatting a mile a minute.

Once you get off the freeway it's pretty much a straight shot to my place from one street to a right turn onto my street. But I forgot to tell Sue about the three streets that come together and one point. And wouldn't you know--she took the wrong street. However, the street she took would have eventually gotten her to my place, but it was a little more difficult to give those directions.

I suggested that she stay parked where she was and I'd come get her, but I managed to talk her to the landing strip. Oh, yes, we've both flown airplanes, and we chatted about that, too.

Ah, it was a lovely visit. I'm so glad to have met another DD friend. I had intended to feed them, but Barbara said she wanted to take us out to dinner. Who am I to turn down a meal I don't have to fix????

So, TraumaMama, have a safe trip home. I'm sure you can find your way back to your place from the airport. *snicker*

Lovely day. Wish it could have been longer.

Shalom

Oh, OH! OH! I'm so happy for you, Chaya! How exciting! How lovely it must be to finally meet yet another DD friend in person! Plus, her Mom too! What a bonus! Clever, clever Miki! I wonder if she'd like me as much if I were to come and visit you! Yes, Sacramento will definitely be on my list of places to visit in the States!
I love you, Chaya! Have a great weekend!
    Hugs,
    E.L.

That's really neat. I bet Traumamama is very interesting to talk to. Did you wind up calling each other by your DD names? That would be funny.

RYC: Yes that flower is a plumera and they are often used in leis. They smell much better than the carrion flower.

Yes...we made it home, but not before a much needed stop at the grocery store!
It's snowing up here and I wish I was back in warm California with those gorgeous trees that are turning color!

And to those who asked, no, we did not use our DD names. It was Chaya, Sue and Barbara (or mom in my case).
