Toesies aka Krazy Kat did not get in the bath water. He sat on that portion of Rowena that was above water. But he *was* drinking the bathwater. I do think, though, that he may go wading in his water bowl. His little paws are quite damp sometimes. And he enjoys the empty bathtub. But I think he got that idea from Banshee.

Had a very busy day travelling hither and yon. On the way home I decided to stop at Les Schwab and get my tires checked, and make an appointment for brake work. Turns out the brakes are fine. It's the drive axles (2), and the CONS VLOC joints (whatever they are) that need replacing. Plus alignment. To the tune of $388 and change. I've known for some time that something needed fixing, and from the sounds I heard when I turned corners, I figured it was probably something that made the car unsafe to drive. And I was right.

Anyway, time was fleeting, and I needed to get home, so I'm going back tomorrow morning and have the work done.

Then there's the under the hood work that needs doing. Probably at least that much more $$$. But it has to pass the smog this year, so the work needs to be done.

If I were to sell the car, I might get $500 for it. Am I doing the right thing by putting all that money in repairs for a heap? Well, yeah, when I consider monthly payments on another car. I'll drive this one until it falls apart.

KK is now sound asleep in a basket that wasn't intended for kitties, but it fits him nicely and puts him near me. He seems to enjoy my company.

Even here in No Calif we're gaining some benefit from hurricane Emily. We're leaving the triple digits for a day or so, while the cloud cover drops the temperature to mid-90 in this area. Okay, I'll take relief for a couple days.

Shalom

yep, cars get to the stage where you either gotta get rid of them or decide to drive them into the ground. I think you made the right decision.

Oh, wow, you're having a cool front *laffs*. We're supposed to have one next week, thank goodness. Heat index today was 115!

KK's sticking his paws in the water bowl cracked me up. Years ago I had a tortoiseshell persian named Mimi who would stick her front paw in the water bowl then hobble around crying piteously until I picked her up and fussed over her poor, horrible "hurt" paw *rolls eyes*

RYN: The local Michaels was offering tatting classes a couple of weeks ago. I was very tempted. I'm with you, I don't quite know to use the shuttle either. Not in any way that makes sense, that's for sure!

If they quoted you the price for: drive axles (2), and the CONS VLOC joints (whatever they are) that need replacing. Plus alignment. To the tune of $388 and change.

Get that in writing (388 for labor and parts, and get it done now.. That is a wonderful price.. I paid a lot more than that and half my parts were used.
I now need both struts and another front end alignment
That will run me probably 400 or more.. and I feel the same as you.. I could probably trade her in for $5,000 and payments on something with less mileage. but..
Could I really afford it..??? It is worth checking out me thinks
    At least in my case.
What year, make, and model is your car??

jessica likes to drink the shower water after i've had a shower and doesn't seem to mind the water too much as she jumps right up there in the shower cubicle :)
