Had a very busy day travelling hither and yon. On the way home I decided to stop at Les Schwab and get my tires checked, and make an appointment for brake work. Turns out the brakes are fine. It's the drive axles (2), and the CONS VLOC joints (whatever they are) that need replacing. Plus alignment. To the tune of $388 and change. I've known for some time that something needed fixing, and from the sounds I heard when I turned corners, I figured it was probably something that made the car unsafe to drive. And I was right.
Anyway, time was fleeting, and I needed to get home, so I'm going back tomorrow morning and have the work done.
Then there's the under the hood work that needs doing. Probably at least that much more $$$. But it has to pass the smog this year, so the work needs to be done.
If I were to sell the car, I might get $500 for it. Am I doing the right thing by putting all that money in repairs for a heap? Well, yeah, when I consider monthly payments on another car. I'll drive this one until it falls apart.
KK is now sound asleep in a basket that wasn't intended for kitties, but it fits him nicely and puts him near me. He seems to enjoy my company.
Even here in No Calif we're gaining some benefit from hurricane Emily. We're leaving the triple digits for a day or so, while the cloud cover drops the temperature to mid-90 in this area. Okay, I'll take relief for a couple days.
Shalom
