Exercise?
Mon Jun 19 2006

I finally made it to the gym.  The water aerobics are from 9am to 10am.  The exercises seem simple, but I lasted only a half hour, with some rest periods in between.  Now I know I'd better have my inhaler with me, because at one point I was feeling quite breathless.

The water is supposed to be 82 degrees, but I don't think it was.  Other women were observing that the water didn't seem the right temperature.  I finally had to quit because the cold was making my knees ache.  Went and sat in the hot pool, and oh! how good that was!

I need to find some swim shoes.  I know there's a name for what I'm looking for, but swim shoes is what they are.  The tiles are wet and slippery, and my balance isn't all that reliable.  The bottom of the pool is scratchy, too, and that irritates my tender feet.

Oh, I'm so delicate you know.

I also forgot to take a lock to lock the locker.  How's that for alliteration?  I didn't take anything of value, so didn't worry too much about the unlocked locker.  But it really doesn't make much sense to put something away without protecting it.

I really need a new bathing suit, too.  The one I have has a skirt, and it kept floating up to my chest while I was doing the exercises.  Besides, this one is several years old, and the elastic is getting worn.

Mentioned to a friend that I had done water aerobics, and she's going to join me.  She has a lifetime membership at the club, and just needed a little incentive to get started again.  It'll be more fun having a friend along, although the ladies there seem to be a friendly lot.

I slept very well for about three hours last night.  I'm just going to have to get to my doctor and see what other pills he has to offer.  After coming home from the gym, I took a nap.  Still can't figure why I can sleep in the daytime, but the RLS hits me every single night!!!  This is really tiresome, in every meaning of the word!

I've ordered Rowena home tomorrow.  I'd like to have some time with her, and I also have a job for her to help with.  It's moving stuff around that I can't do by myself.  My living room is a wreck, and until I get some help, it'll remain a wreck.  Thus, Rowena.

Banshee is hollering for his bedtime goodies, so I guess I'll go tend to his needs.

Shalom

I hope the doctor can be of some help. I think they might be called 'water shoes' but I'm not sure. They would be great.

Okay . . . I'm going to bed now, I hope you can get some much needed rest as well.

I think they are just called swim shoes but I find them essential for aqua aerobics. All that bouncing on concrete just tears the skin on my toes off. I really love aqua aerobics, too. It's easy on the joints, and since I *REALLY* hate sweating it's just perfect. I do sweat, but because I'm already wet I don't notice. Then when the session is over I just hang in the pool for a little bit and cool down. I never break a sweat that way.

This was from yesterday, but I'm glad Banshee made it home safe and sound from his walkabout.

    Hugs,
    ~Cali

They're called AquaSocks (or AquaSox). I wonder if the RLS is triggered by your level of weariness? Maybe you need to do like Winston Churchill did and take several 3 hour naps through the day and night rather than getting your sleep all at once?

    Dear Chaya,

My, my! Someone's going to the gym and having a good time at water aerobics! At least, at the hot pool. I've always seem to have had this low tolerance for cold and high tolerance for heat. I would not enjoy swimming in a cold pool.

If I could find some swim shoes, I'll e-mail you for your size and have them sent to you.

Rowena is a darling for coming over to help you out. I wish I were there to help out, too. You won't be able to recognize your living room when I'm done.

Sorry to hear about your drug-induced insomnia. I can sleep in any position, condition, weather and time, and thus feel very sorry for people who have difficulty sleeping.

As for your comments: Pixie's hair is growing longer, and is now satiny and smooth. Chloe was and still is fascinated by her toy. She has an assortment of toys and scratching units to keep her busy most of the time. She is good with sharing and encourages Pixie to join in. I have watched her lead Pixie to the Scratch N' Play and give him a little demonstration to get him to join in. She's a good big sister, is Chloe.

    Love,
    E.L.

Chloe is one smart cat. Mamacats take their babies and teach them what Chloe is teaching Pixie. And showing Pixie where the scratchings places are certainly preserves the furniture.

    Good girl!
