I want to have a selection for my private guests, some of whom are vegetarians and some who are meat eaters. If they don't keep kosher, that's OK by me, but I surely do.
I ordered a chocolate on chocolate cake, but not with happy birthday on it. All I want is a big 80 on it.
I'll be making the potato salad in the shul kitchen. I don't like anyone else's potato salad, so I'm going to make it myself. I do like the deli's cole slaw. Now that I'm writing about this, I can't remember what all I ordered. Meat, cheese, deli trays, assorted breads, cole slaw, cake (another salad?). I guess I'll be surprised when he calls me and tells me the cost. Oh, I'll provide mixed fruit salad, and mixed greens.
There. That's the menu.
Okay, now where's that list I made? Better tape it up where it won't get lost. I can't be trying to figure out what to buy at the last minute, just because I can't keep track of a list. Tch!
Oh, yes, there'll be cholent and challah. Have to give Rabbi a check for that.
So the party isn't going to be until 2 July, but I need to plan ahead. I tend to procrastinate. No that's not quite truthful. I am a procrastinator non pareil!
Y'ALL COME. HEAH?
*********
Friend was walking home from shul Friday evening and stepped in a hole. Has a broken ankle (left), and a gouged knee (right) and scrapes all down her shin. She'll see the orthopedist tomorrow to see if she remains splinted or will have to get a cast.
One drawback to being single is that you don't have anyone to help you to the bathroom. She has a friend coming to stay for a couple days, but she'll be pretty much on her own after that, unless she will telephone nearby friends if she gets in desperate straits. I live about 5 minutes away.
That's it for today.
Shalom
