Cats!! Or is it just Siamese Cats?!
Missy is bound and determined to get out of the house, and she's as sneaky and fast as can be. I can't let my guard down an instant!
I put a harness on her, and got my hand shredded for my effort. After she got used to the harness, I put a leash on the harness. She attacked that leash like a band of Furies!
Now that she has started ignoring the leash, I tried to take her out for a walkabout. Yeah right! She absolutely refused to take a step, and in fact turned back to the door, pressed her nose against it, and would not move away.
Later on, just a few minutes ago, I tried again. Same result.
So maybe she doesn't want out all that badly after all.
*Sigh*
Well, I'm not letting my guard down.
Bless

- From:Lakestars (Legacy)On:Fri Apr 04 2008It will take some time for her to adjust.
Part 7 is coming up tmw :)
Hugs... xoxo - From:DancingStar (Legacy)On:Fri Apr 04 2008hehe, didnt you know? A cats desire to do something is directly inversly proportinate to how much YOU want them to do it! It is well within the feline perogative to completely change their mind on something as many times as need be to completely confuse and frustrate their human.

LOL
How is your restless leg???
I ask because of a total saga going on with my mom
If you have a day or two I will tell you what is now going on....
Oh it is not good
My mom had to go in for an MRI on her shoulder yesterday, and she can't handle these things - so they basically sedated her.. well .. she sedated herself too.. so .. she was totally stoned.. and when she came home her restless legs were driving her mad.. **which is strange since she was hardly awake**.. but insisted she must get in the water.. take a bath.. (the only thing that helps her legs).. and she has been known to take up to 17 baths in a weekend.. It is just awful.. so with this injury my dad has to get her in and out of the tub.. I mean she can't get herself in or out.. and he usually can get her out, but with her being so drugged up.. she was dead weight and she forgot how to position herself for him to he able to get under her and lift her out.. well..... He struggled with her for an hours.. and had to sit in the bath with her and rest his own back.. long story short.. took him an hour and half to get her out and he considered calling 9-1-1~~
she finally got out and half an hour later fell down while dad was cooking dinner and hurt her back in a new place.....
and then .... wanted to take another bath.. Dad was about at wits end.. he was afraid to go back upstairs to his own room so laid down on the floor. .. beside her.. *she can't sleep in her bed.. so sleeps on a downstairs couch.... ** eventually he had to inflate a blow up mattress he had bought when visiting brother and helping when bro's wife died.... he put that down .. since the hard floor was killing his back.. and there he tried to sleep.. until at 5:30 AM when she insisted she had to take another bath.. this is after several showers during the night.. in which she insisted my dad stand behind her in the shower.. so she didn't fall again.. Dad said he was really ready to flip out..
He said they drained two tanks of hotwater...
it is too much!!
Now she has decided she can't take any of the medication for her restless leg.. that it makes it worse.. and she is instead eating pain pills like M&M's.. oh.. i don't know what to do..
I guess i'll go up there and see if maybe we can check her into a hospital and get her meds sorted out and give dad a break.. he is seriously sleep deprived by this time
- From:ImNotLisa (Legacy)On:Fri Apr 04 2008It sounds as if Missy is related to Lightning. We've talked about a harness for him; he's managed to get out at least a dozen times over the last three weeks. ARGH!!
- From:MissTick (Legacy)On:Fri Apr 04 2008it's a humiliation thing, isn't it? she is embarassed to be seen on a leash, like some ordinary dog, you know ;-)LOl...I think next option to try might be - put her on a leash, but leave outside the door:-) one way or another, she'll realise that outdoors means - leash...
- From:Mamallama (Legacy)On:Fri Apr 04 2008I'm convinced cats can become invisible.
Mine can get out the door without me even seeing them.
Sneaky little devils.
Good thing you're not letting your guard down!
Hugs, Tiggs - From:Waterspriteflying (Legacy)On:Sun Apr 06 2008Hello, dear heart--
Just catching up with you, making sure you're all right
I'm sorry to hear about your sister's accident, but so glad she wasn't badly hurt!
And I think it's cats in general. They have very little prefrontal cortex, which is what gives a critter impulse control. They are absolutely, 100%, in the moment.
Hugs and happiness,
Ani - From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Thu Apr 10 2008Cat-lovers claim that cats' refusal to bend to humans' will is sign of their extreme intelligence. I believe it is just that cats have a stronger sense of doing what is of advantage to their survival. If they allowed themselves to be put on leash / stuffed into carriers / locked up in rooms, they would not have survived so well to propagate their genes everywhere.
