Here's a view from Megan's side yard (front).  There's a house a little way up the mountain, but it's hidden in the trees.  I caught just a quick glimpse of it.  The base of this mountain is less than a mile from Megan's back yard.  What a view!!!

I have more pictures to show, but this is the only one, so far, that has been formatted.  Thanks to Yetzirah, I have this one to show.
And thanks to Yetzirah, again, I have a cheat-sheet so I can format the rest of the pix.

More to come.

Shalom

It's hard to confront the parents. They are a Ukranian family, and while the father speaks english, he is seldom home. The mother doesn't speak enough english for me to make my message clear to her. I think she did understand my remark "keep your kids away from my kids!" as i haven't seen the more troublesome of the kids around the house in a while.

Actually, the boys are excited about starting school, but regretting that they will not be able to sleep in anymore or have their days free.

I used to love school time each year as it meant I got to see my friends again, so I must be an odd-ball too.

RYN: Rick uses a fly swatter if they are on the small side, bug spray and a fly swatter if they are bigger. We aren't sure how they get in the house exactly but I know from talking to coworkers it is very common to find them indoors this time of year. I need to remember to wear shoes and I DON'T ever remember to wear shoes indoors.

Breathtaking! I love the greenery! Thank you, Yetzirah, for helping Chaya with this!

Re Your Question: The hatchlings were released at predawn because that is the time they go to sea in nature. Diurnal birds and fish would feed on them if there were enough light to see them by. The few hours between night and daylight could enable a baby turtle to go into the depths for shelter. For the first few days, the baby turtle does not have to eat. The yolk provides enough sustenance to keep each turtle alive for a few days. Isn't Mother Nature too brilliant for words?

    Love,
    E.L.
