Still here
Fri Mar 10 2006

Still here, but under some protest.

I haven't been writing because I've absolutely nothing of any importance or interest to talk about.

The protest is because I'm sick again.  It seems my sunset years aren't going to be all that healthy.  One dang thing after another.  I'm wondering if my immune system has been compromised.  I've never had so many illnesses one after another.  Should question my doctor about that, maybe.

Now I'm getting over bronchial spasms with asthma.  On high-powered antibiotic and other stuff.  At least I can talk briefly without going into coughing spasms today.  Last night was bad, but I think I'm getting a grip on some manner of health.  I feel a willingness to live a little longer.

The weather reports have been off.  Predicting heavy rain every day for the last few, and not a drop in my neighborhood for the past few.  However, the mountains have been getting a hefty dose of snow.  A community near here had hail and a tornado.  No report of damage in the paper today.

The landscapers were finally able to do some mowing, as the grass has had a chance to dry out some.  Lovely smell, that, of fresh cut grass.  Today has been alternately sunny and cloudy.  But I'm still not venturing out.  I really want to go to shul tomorrow, but it will depend on the weather and if I'm still coughing.

So that's it for today.

Shalom

My dear friend I do hope you are feeling better. It seems as we age it does take longer to recup and it is wearing to get one on top of another.
But you are so strong and have such will I know this will pass.
Mowing grass is a long way off here in the mountains, we had about 31/2" snow by morning and
more tonight. Spring can not come to soon for me for I is tired of winter

AH yes chicken noodle soup is so good for anything that has you down.
You are so right clip off a pack add boiling water presto chicken soup. BUT ah BUT not as good as my Aunt Hazel's. I recall her picking out a hen that was no longer laying and I would catch it and fold the wings and feet real tight and lop off her head stick it guickly in a bucket to bleed. (Only ONE time did I have to chase one with it's head cut off, hard lesson) My aunt would have water boiling and dip the bird and we would pick the feathers which she set aside to dry for ticking some day. Home made noodles and a trip too celler for carrots
and cooking on a coal fired stove.
Yes it was a few hours work but SOOOOO good by supper time.
Funny our nose can still recall the wonderfull smell that drifted in the kitchen.
Life was a lot slower then and HARD and not sure I could go back as I have come so FAR and life is so much easier but I would not trade the lessons learned for anything.

Oh no! Poor darling Chaya! Please get well soon, my friend. I want you to have good health always. I will pray hard for you. Please be well.

As for your question, we restricted the puppies to the driveway, and kept Chloe indoors. She wasn't in the least bothered by their presence, though. Just sat and watched and meowed at them placidly.

Please take good care of yourself.

    Love, Hugs & Healing,
    E.L.
