Heat Wave
Thu May 15 2008

It's hot out there!    And I'm going into hibernation!!

The weather page says 99o for the rest of the week, but if I were a betting woman, I'd bet that we hit a triple or two.  Normal for this time of year is in the low 80s.

The wind is blowing from all over the directions. Today from the Northwest, tomorrow from the Northeast, Saturday from the South, and Sunday from the Southwest. All from 15 to 25 miles per hour.  From the Northwest and -east??! And it's still hot??!! I know about [] much about meteorology, and I'd like an explanation from someone who knows.  How can it blow from the North-anywhere and still be hot??

San Francisco, right on the Bay, is expecting to be 88o today. That is unheard of.

Across the parking lot is a glorious display of jasmine in full bloom. And I can't breathe! I hate the stuff. Can't even have my windows open. Well, they won't be open in this kind of heat, but that's beside the point. *grump*  If I owned the world, I'd put a ban on jasmine and honeysuckle, and all the other highly scented plants. Don't bother to tell me how much you love the stuff. I know there are people who love the stuff. But I can't breathe when it's in bloom. The scent just overwhelms me. If I'm going to continue my evening walks, I have to find my filter mask.

In other news. . . . there isn't any.

Bless
