I just figured out why I'm so miserable, so intolerant of the heat.
Last year, when we had a lot more triple digits, I wasn't so bothered. In fact, we've had a rather cooler summer, cooler being comparative, than last summer.
I'm in my car a lot, whether I like it or not. And therein lies the problem. Last year the air conditioner was working. This year it is not.
I'll probably have enough money to fix it sometime in....December? Well, there's nothing like being prepared for summer 2008, now is there?
I compare our heat with Tucson's, and smile when we're a degree or two lower. However...we've been a degree or three higher these last few days.
I don't have a smiley icon that shows my hair on fire, and steam coming out of my ears. Someone who knows how to do those things, you could maybe construct such an icon? Or maybe a melt-down.
Well, I'm sitting here in my altogethers, in front of a fan, and thinking about getting dressed and fixing my dinner. I think I'll sit awhile longer.
But y 'all have a wonderful weekend. Heah?
Bless the day

- From:Yetzirah (Legacy)On:Sat Sep 01 2007Even Sunny doesn't want to go outside to pee.
We went out a little while ago and I could hardly breathe.
Ack!
Hope the delta breeze kicks in REAL soon.
Good Shabbos and thanks for keeping me 'informed'.

I love you and hope you find some relief from the heat. I've always found it helpful to put a package of frozen peas on my neck.
I'm having the opposite problem. I'm frozen at 80 degrees which is just another symptom of the thyroid problem *grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* - From:ImNotLisa (Legacy)On:Sat Sep 01 2007Rick and I came out of Wal-Mart tonight and got blasted by the humidity. You could even see it hanging in the air. Hope things cool down for you all soon. UGH!!
- From:Mamallama (Legacy)On:Sat Sep 01 2007Oh I hope it cools down for you soon!
Thanks for keeping me 'informed' through Yetzirah. Sure glad everything turned out okay.
Thank you, God!
Hugs, Tiggs - From:Dreamerbooks2003 (Legacy)On:Sat Sep 01 2007It has been such a hot summer and dry!! I think that is the reason our garden produced such small tomatoes and other items.. Not the usual size.. but could also be we forgot to fertilize!!!
A smiley with burning hair in flames and steam pouring out of ears..
Ha~ha! ha ~ The visual you bring is better than any such smiley icon...
Did you see anything in the sky last night???
Not I...

Tim - From:Parett (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 03 2007YOU ARE SUCH A KICK!!!! A breath of fresh air in all this heat.
- From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Thu Sep 06 2007Poor dear Chaya! I really sympathize with you. Over here the weather is not merely hot, but expremely humid, so you can imagine.. sweaty shirt and pants, sticky steering wheel and gear... you get the picture.
It amazes me that you would send me cheques for the animals. You do put others before your own needs too much. I want you to take better care of yourself from now on, please Chaya?
Love,
E.L. - From:Waterspriteflying (Legacy)On:Fri Sep 07 2007Hi--Just dropping by on my way to bed. I'll try to get more pictures from the Rogue up tomorrow, and even write about it some. (What a concept, huh?)
Dad looked good when we saw him today, although very weak. It's hard to say whether he's weaker than he was before, though. He might even be stronger.
Mom, if Dad gets to come home, will have my niece here. She's young and quite strong, but her husband is even stronger. If they can get Dad in and out of bed, that takes care of most of a day's activities, since he spends most of his time in his recliner. Also, Home Health would be coming in again, to get him some exercise. He just needs to get a wee bit stronger.
And I know it sounds awful, but part of wanting him home is just the thought that we don't want him to die anywhere else. When he goes, however near or far that end is, he deserves to be in his own bed. It's worrisome to think he'd get so weak he couldn't come home at all.
Take care, and give yourself hugs (and maybe a few giggles?) from me,
Ani - From:MissTick (Legacy)On:Fri Sep 07 2007RYC: that's why I said and it was for a reason: keep dreaming ? you never know what can come true! [or, as in my case it would be "you never know who can come through"] LOL
be well, see you on the other side of my journey
~Lana~ - From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Wed Sep 12 2007RYC: emotional distance is still a very hard thing to deal with growing up. It's hard to learn to be warm and fuzzy when you've never had a good example but you seem to have managed the trick just fine!
