Troy
Wed Mar 02 2005

I watched the movie tonight with my granddaughter. Guess I'll have to re-read The Iliad, as there were some names I'd forgotten.

The sword fighting scenes were gorgeously choreographed. I don't know if Brad Pitt did all the sword scenes, but whoever did them was absolutely great! The mob scenes, well...they were mob scenes. The armor and shields looked very authentic, and the costumes were well done. But hair-dos don't match what I've seen in pictures and on statues. And I don't recall seeing beards on the Greeks of the time. Maybe the Trojans had beards, but not the Greeks.

Oooh, and all that hunky muscle stuff.

I think I'll borrow the DVD and watch it again here at home.

But now it's past time for another nebulizer treatment. Not a cure, but a great relief, and I'll do it until whatever it is in the air is no longer in the air.

Shalom

i have watched Troy 6 times already. ***giggles. I am not a fan of Brad Pitt but I found him particularly sexy in this movie. His hair suits him. Plus it was very artistically choreographed indeed.

    Dear Chaya,

Yes, the nebulizer is not a cure, but a relief! And what a relief it is to be able to function normally, at least! My inhaler is definitely not a burden or liability that I have to carry around!

I have not watched Troy but I have read the Illiad. I am not a big fan of movies. I remember The Illiad and The Odyssey, chiefly because I borrowed those two tomes from the town library to read when I was down with chicken pox at age 11. The books kept me occupied so I didn't miss school too much.

As for your comment, yes I would agree that you have a take-charge personality, but in an utterly nice way!

    Lots of Love,
    E.L.

Been many years I read the book but may be next winter when got the time. A thing that never seems to surface in the wars of old is very few wounded ever made it past the pain. At times I think the games played today should have a shock coller wired to the players as they feel no pain that comes from WAR.
