AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Mon Jan 23 2006

I'm going to be away for awhile, I guess. I can't seem to get anywhere with my e-mail server.

I got an e-mail saying they weren't able to access my credit card account, and asked for updated info. Which I gave them. And they said the update was accepted. The next day I got another e-mail with the same message, which I ignored. Mistake.

I was on the puter (playing solitaire, truth be told) when all of a sudden everything went black.

Today I managed to find an 800 number, and got a big runaround. The "tech" kept telling me it was my computer. I kept telling her it was ATT.

Now I'm on Megan's computer, trying to find some on-line help. Again, no help. So I thought I'd let y'all know why I'm not showing up.

Health-wise, I guess I'm coming along OK. It's a long road to complete recovery, and I'm trying hard to be patient. Waaahhh!!!

So maybe I'll bite the bullet, take the CPU to the computer shop and see what they can do for me. I may well be sending out a group mail with a new e-mail address.

Shalom

Just to be safe, you might want to call your credit card company to be sure there are no unauthorized charges on your card. Yikes!

p.s. i agree about checking with your credit card company. the bank i'm with have had customers receiving numerous bogus emails requesting updated information on their cards when in fact its been for nefarious reasons (i.e. crooks trying to get ahold of your credit card info) so best to check that one out

Oh no! I hope your computer problems get solved soon, dear Chaya. I would miss you terribly if you were to go offline even for a bit.

Perhaps I can resume sending you snail-mail. Interesting postcards and the like from my country. I am sure you would like that!

    Good luck with the computer!

    Love,
    E.L.

P/S: And yes, I have slowed down and mellowed plenty last week!

check with your credit card company. One of the biggest frauds out there is "official" notices that your service will be discontinued if you don't update your credit card information. This is an easy way for them to get your credit card info.
