Update on the fridge
Mon Dec 06 2004

The refrigerator comes with the apartment. As such, the owner is responsible for the upkeep/repairs.

The bill came to $103 and some odd cents. A whole lot cheaper than a new one. But that's the way the owner operates. The cheapest way for the time being.

Isn't there a saying to the effect "save a penny, lose a pound"? You get the idea.

Shalom

I'm with you 100% on the Philip Morris thing. Then . . . you start going down a slippery slope . . . isn't alcohol a killer too? Sugar causes diabetes . . . and McDonald's for sure should be outlawed. So, I see that they are taking steps at least to make it an adult decision. Still and again, if it were to be a new product now it would never be allowed.

But I do agree, cigarettes kill and so does second hand smoke and there is no way they should be produced for sale. PM is holding back the inevitable with this campaign.

The city I used to live near is completely smoke free - no smoking in restaurants, bars or any other public places. Change is in the wind.

When I saw those ads I felt something similar. But mine had to do with the twisted logic of it. Seems like some people think that if you have been "informed" of all the problems, then that covers their legal fannies and they can wipe their hands of responsibility. We have moved from ethical thinking, to legal thinking in this country and it's too bad. :-(
