Thanksgiving
Thu Nov 24 2005

Megan said we'd be eating around 3:00pm, so I planned to be there around 1:00.  Maybe I could help, or maybe I could just get in her way.

Didn't quite happen that way.  I got up really late this morning, so when Megan called to find out when I was going to show up, I hadn't even finished the crossword puzzle in the paper.  OK, so I hustled, and got there approximately the time I had planned to.

One thing that slowed me down was the shower.  It was the perfect temperature, and I had to talk very seriously to myself to get out, get going.  I just wanted to stand there and let that lovely, perfect temperature water flow over me.  Aaaahhhh!

Megan told me there was going to be a guest, someone she had talked about and wanted me to meet.  Yes.  A gentleman.  I think he may become significant.  A very nice man, easy to talk to, and he talks to the face, not the boobs.

Gryffan was in Ventura with Tracy and her family, but he telephoned and wished everyone happy.  He's a sweetheart.  Wish he had been with us, but Tracy wants to be with her family on significant holidays.  I hope that won't be a problem once/if they're married.  The guy's family deserves some special holiday time, too.  Oh, well.  I'll think about that another time.

The food was good and more than plentiful.  Megan is a good cook.  She sent home some turkey for my boys, and there's not a scrap left.  She sent home some goodies for Rena and me, too.  Oh, yes...Rena's spending the rest of the week with me.  So even if friend G is with his mother, I still get some of her time.  Most of it.  In fact, I'm going to put her to work.  I moved my craft cabinet into the spare room, and my desk into the computer area.  Big mistake.  The desk takes up too much space, so we're going to reverse what I thought was a good idea.  And I did measure before I did the moving.  But I guess I just didn't see how much space was going to be lost.  Also, it just gives KK an easier way to get to the counters and the sink.

What is his fascination with the sink, bathroom and kitchen, and the bathtub?  He's a weird cat.  Doesn't like to be wet, or get his paws wet, but he will jump in the tub when the water's running.  I really got him with the shower this morning.  **evil grin***

It was a good day, and I have much to be thankful for.

Shalom

KK is one Very Brave Animal, I'd say...jumping into tub with running water?! maybe he's trying out his will power? you know, when you do something you afraid of doing...thrilling experience, i must say ;-)

Hey, I like the sounds of the gentleman friend! *smile*

Isn't that funny how when you are moving things around sometimes what you plan turns out to be so very wrong! Ah well . . . not so hard to reverse.

I'm so glad you had a nice holiday. Me, I can appreciate those hot showers oh so much after not having heat or hot water for a month and a half! I LOVE my new apartment. It's a one bedroom, but there's a deck off the kitchen (I'm second floor), a dishwasher, a disposal, and AIRCONDITIONER and so much space I don't know what to do with myself. OH, and a GARAGE!

    Happy Thanksgiving,
    xxxx

It isn't just a cat thing. Shelby jumps into our shower whenever we leave the bathroom door open in our room. She loves it in there!
    Strange dog.
Glad to hear your holiday was enjoyable.

There is nothing so.. ahem... thrilling... as having a cat jump on you while you are relaxing in the tub. Taught me in a hurry to keep the bathroom door shut all the way!

Glad you had a good Thanksgiving! :o)

RYC: The Christmas bomb consisted of ribbon, flowers, glitter, glue, more ribbon, fake sugared fruit, and more ribbon. It wound up on every available surface. I will be vacuuming glitter until the cows come home. Need to get my garage workshop set up so I won't have to clean up after the next scheduled explosion.
