I swam
Mon Jul 10 2006

Yep.  Yesterday I actually got in the pool.  The weather page predicted 99 degrees, but the update this morning said it got to 103.  I knew it was hotter than 99.

Anyway...took me a few minutes to actually get the whole body in the water, but I did it.  Becke and her son Gordon were already there.  I played some splash with Gordon, and a lot of chatter with Becke.

After awhile the difference in the water temperature and my body temperature began to make itself felt.  Aching knees, so I sat at one of the poolside tables and dried off.  And I mean I dried off.  By the time I got back home, my bathing suit was almost dry.  Hot-hot-hot!!

I forgot to mention that Kimberly sent me a bouquet of orchids for my birthday.  They were still in good shape when she arrived, but they have to go into the trash today.  They've done their beautiful duty and need to be retired.

I didn't make it to water aerobics this morning.  Woke up about 4am and couldn't go back to sleep.  But by 8am, I was dozing in my chair.  Gave up trying to wake up and went back to bed for another 3 hours.  Good thing I don't have a job to go to.

Update on Trish:  She has some kind of tick fever.  Marian said she couldn't pronounce the disease let alone spell it.  My Taber's isn't much help there.  Does describe Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, but I don't think that tick is found on the East Coast.  Anyway, she's being cared for in the hospital, and I expect she'll be up and about soon.  Thanks to all for prayers.  Keep up the good work.

Well, I see my sister has logged in for our daily chat, so I'll say goodbye for now

Shalom

It is significant, but I actually know the reason why there is such a difference in cost (learned it today). The Aciphex starts working in hours rather than the days that Prilosec takes to start working. That could be a difference for some folks but for myself I'll stick with the Prilosec. That stuff is expensive, I had no idea!!

Oh, and we do have the tick that causes Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever here in the East. Unfortunately.

Lyme disease, perhaps? Nasty nasty stuff. Hope she gets better soon.

If it was Lyme bite it looks like a Bullseye ring and carried by deer in south and east. Very bad if not treated. I got it on the farm in Ark and was first case in Yell county. Blood sample was sent to Little rock and I was put on a antibonic that did it in .I was very lucky for if left untreated is a long road.

Won't comment on all the medical stuff, as I have no idea of all this. but I would say about the difference: it IS SIGNIFICANT... Hope everything will turn out for the better for you and yours.

Yes, that is indeed significant! Rx costs are way beyond reasonable *sigh*

Regarding your comment on Allimom's diary, I think you're thinking of cranberries. Those are a marshy crop.

The difference being one is generic (*Prilosec) and the other is a brand-name,(*AciPhex 20 mg) that has not gone generic yet.. The drug manufactures have to get their trial moneys back. Ya see!!!!!! With my insurance I have no choice.. if it isn't generic.. I have to pay full price.. with generic I just pay co-pay.. it sucks.. big time!!!!! I'd stay with Prilosec.. my Mom has taken it for quite awhile with no side-effects.. and she is very drug sensitive..

Glad you got in the water.. now that your company is leaving.. You will no doubt get back to your aerobics class...

I hope Trish does better and better. Prayers are with you all.. and her special

also Marian, your wonderful family and grandkids..
    Hugs
