This much I know: I will never again take an extended bus trip. It was fun when I was much younger and traveling with my sister. But 14 hours is too much! Going wasn't too bad, but returning was a little more than I wanted to cope with.
Washington is a beautiful state, and Megan's new home is very nice. Almost brand new, and it does have brand new carpeting. Two stories don't bother Megan and Rowena, but they were a trial for me. A lot of pressure on my bad knee, and I paid for it yesterday. Had to take a Vicodin to sleep last night.
I bought a digital camera and took some pictures. I hope I'll be posting some pictures here. Right now there are things that need my attention, and when I get those taken care of, I'll write about the trip to and the stay in WA, and the trip home.
The weather suited me just fine, and I'm glad that the triple digits were gone when I returned home. That isn't to say they won't be back--there's still August to deal with--but the respite was more than welcome!!!
I'm reading mail and diaries, but not leaving comments. Too much stuff to get through right now. But I'll catch up with y'all later.
Shalom

I always thought that if there was a hell, it would be a bus that you could never get off of!
- From:Yetzirah (Legacy)On:Fri Aug 04 2006Either that, or a doctor's waiting room....

Alli - From:CovertOps (Legacy)On:Sun Aug 06 2006Oh Chaya! Your poor knee! All the same, I am glad you made the trip. At least now you know what Megan's lodgings are like.
Please have a good rest and give your knee plenty of time to heal. Take care and don't worry yourself about catching up on diaries.
Lots of Love,
E.L. - From:Camomille (Legacy)On:Mon Aug 07 2006Glad you are back! Glad to see things have cooled off a bit from when you departed.
I know what you mean about steps. I have to avoid them both at work and also where I live as my joints just won't take it either with my osteo-arthritis. My sister lives in a nice condo with her friend but the bedrooms are up a very steep flight, and the laundry room is in the basement, also down a very steep flight. Not for me! Forward motion only, if you please!
Good thing you had the Vicodin on hand, that's for sure.
It's nice you got to see where they live. Hopefully they will be able to make visits often to your area. - From:Camomille (Legacy)On:Mon Aug 07 2006I need to check out James Galway who now is known as 'The Man with the Golden Flute' instead of Rampal. As I said music and listening to music have not been a part of my life for a very long while - something I wish to rememdy. I love chamber music. My solos in competition were mainly Bach - always a favorite of mine.
I just want to be able to pick up a good CD every now and then and then be able to enjoy it fully in my own home - with all the proper acoustics. It's such a pleasure and a great way to relax.
