I WISH I COULD BLAZON THIS ACROSS THE SKIES......

SMOKERS...Get a Damn Clue!!!

Why do you think more and more establishments are posting NO SMOKING signs? Eh?

If you want to toast your lungs, that's OK by me. They're your lungs, your life, your emphysema. But leave my lungs alone!!

I was in the checkout line at the grocery a little while ago. The entry door slid open, and I was all of a sudden gasping for breath.

Yeah, there was a smoker standing outside the door. Well, yes, he was outside. That's the law in California. But his smoke was filtering back inside the store, through the door that was admitting customers every few seconds.

Some places have signs that request smokers to stand at least 20 feet away from the building.

Good thing I had my rescue inhaler with me. Otherwise, I'd be in an ambulance right now getting an inhalation therapy treatment, and possibly even heading for the hospital.

Listen, guys, asthma is a serious health problem. And there are people who are just simply annoyed or irritated by having to inhale someone else's smoke. So please be considerate. Move away from the doorways.

Even better...quit smoking. It's in your best interest.

Yes, I know the addictive qualities of tobacco. And yes, I understand how hard it is to kick an addiction. But there's help. Go get it!

Oh my favorite is all the walmart employees hanging out on the bench outside smokin it up... and ugly cigarette butts in the parks and flinging out windows... I fear you got me going...

I know what you mean. While I don't have asthma, I do have a sensitivity to smoke which leaves me unable to breath for quite a while after leaving the exposure.

I'm an ex-smoker, and it always blew my mind (still does) how absolutely RUDE some smokers are. It's as if they think their right to pollute everything is more important than 6 billion other people's right to breathe. I just never got that kind of selfishness. I'm not a militant ex-smoker; I still want to have one once in awhile, but there are certainly ways not to be obnoxious about it.

You should send a letter to the store's management asking them to establish a policy of a no-smoking zone in front of the doors, or you and your friends will take your business elsewhere.

I agree with AeolianSolo. I am also an ex smoker and I am really amazed at how rude some smokers can be. Just because they have to smoke outside, it's the law in Alaska too or at least in the city I live in, they think that it's perfectly ok to stand right outside of entrances and smoke. Like you said it's their life and their lungs. They want to kill themselves them it's their choice but I really would appreciate it if they would stay away from entrances so when us non smokers and entering and exiting a building we don't have to get a lung full of smoke.

I agree. When I was taking classes at the local community college the smokers would all gather in the entrance of the building as it had an overhang to protect them from the weather. I used to hold my breath while crossing. I heard that after I left the school built them a shelter.
