Had a call from Gryffan this morning to report on DiDi's visit with her pediatrician. She got her shots and a thorough look-over by the doctor. He pronounced her average. For a three-year-old. DiDi is 20 months old. I think I commented that she was going through the Terrible Twos early, but now I think maybe she was a little late. Maybe she's done now?
Average physically and intellectually for a three-year-old. She has a vocabulary of 200 words, and can string the words together in a sentence. She knows her colors and some letters, and recognizes numbers. She can count, but she's a little erratic as to sequence.
I'm going over there next week. I took Yetzirah's advice and formatted the memory card. I absolutely do not remember having to do that with the first card, but I surely will do it with subsequent cards. I will have pictures next week!
Caitlin's Bat Mitzvah was celebrated yesterday. She did an outstanding job! Her reading from the Torah scroll was flawless. Now understand, the scroll does not have any indication of pronunciation or punctuation. One has to know the pronunciation from weeks of practice. Weeks of practice with a no-nonsense teacher. Her D'var Torah was delivered a little too fast, but all her points were well thought out. She did remember some of the ToastMaster tips I gave her
.
I must remember to tell her how proud I am of her!!
There's an unfortunate side-effect of this Bat Mitzvah. Her father will cut all ties with her now. He's a Jehovah Witness, and if she doesn't follow him, he's required to break off the family connection. Isn't that sad?
The weather has now conceded that we are in the season of late summer to early Autumn! Temps are back to low 90s-mid 80s. What a blessing!! My plants are doing well, and I'm enjoying my patio. There will be pictures eventually.
That's my news for today, so now I'm going back to bagging newspapers for delivery to the recycling bin.
Bless
