Writing a diary has never been a "thing" for me. I got started because a friend suggested it. I read her diary and thought it might be fun. But now I find it isn't all that easy.
My writing experience has been in the research/report mode. Give me a subject, and I'll give you a report (however many pages you want), along with references, charts, and graphs. I enjoy that.
Face-to-face conversation is something else. I've had the most fascinating conversations with total strangers. Yes, I talk to strangers. Sometimes. Any comment or observation will start a conversation, discussion, debate, whatever. I love it!
But being faced with a blank sheet of paper, or a blank computer screen, I'm really challenged! Sometimes I have an idea I want to write about, but if you check my diary calendar you'll see that I'm not exactly constant in my entries. What can I write about that anyone is the least bit interested in reading about? What time I got up this morning? What I had for breakfast? Cleaning out (Ugh!) the cat's litter box?
My life is good, but not particlarly interesting, at least to anyone else. Guess I'd better do something about that. Volunteering someplace. Getting the blasted table cleared off so I can set up my easel and start painting again?
At least something to talk about. Now I gotta go get something to eat.
Shalom
