COLOR!
Mon Nov 17 2003

Out on the freeway today. Going to Roseville to visit friend Allen. I almost drove off the road looking at all the color. Finally!

What is so beautiful about Sacramento color is the evergreen background. We have a multiplicity of trees here, and I can't begin to name them all, but Oh! the Fall colors are glorious!

There's yellow and gold, various shades of orange from pale to brilliant, and just about any shade of red you can think of from deep burgundy to bright red, and almost pink.

There's one particular area that I would photograph and later paint. But I didn't have a camera, and the scene came upon me suddenly. And I was travelling at about 65 mph, so even if I had a camera, I wouldn't have been able to snap it. Maybe Wednesday when I go back, I can find a place to pull of the road and snap the scene.

Absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous. Every one of the colors mentioned above. It will take a lot of time to paint that scene, but paint it I will.

OK, that's it. Time for 60 Minutes on TV.

Shalom

I am glad to hear you enjoyed the fall colors. They are fast disappearing here, but I have enjoyed the awesome display. I never feel so close to God as when I am enjoying such Natural Splendour.

Mostly green and blue here. It has been my experience that when I have been in northern CA, which is not all that often, that everything is gold no matter what time of year. I am awaiting your pictures to prove me wrong :)

Hi Pragmatist: Colours! You mean you still have leaves on the trees?? *smile* -We don't.

So many times I see a scene while I am driving and think that it would make a good picture but I never have my camera with me! And I can't paint from memory, I need a picture.

    Dear Chaya,
I've only ever experienced fall once, and I've saved all the fallen leaves I collected in the streets of Hayward CA. I loved it. It was sheer magic, to see all those different colors in leaves. I'm so happy you get to experience it every year. What an enriching experience it must be! Oh, I must come visit you soon.
    Love,
    E.L.

    I love fall...
If I had to, I think I'd declare it as my favorite season
Unfortunately, I live in Florida and can't enjoy the colors and the brisk air.
What I would do to photograph those trees and massive amounts of colors.
I hope you can capture that scene.
Hope you don't mind the comment ;)
    Take care

    Dear Chaya,
The glory of Autumn colour is, to me, one of Mother Nature's most wonderful gifts. I hope you will take that photo, and then create a glorious painting from it. I would love to be able to see your paintings as Cali has,

    Love and (((hugs))) Kelpie.
