Not a while lot to write about. I made a ToDo list, and got most of it done. I've found that if I don't write it down, it ain't gonna happen! I did a lot of running around, but planned the errands in a more or less logical route.

The main thing I wanted to do was visit a friend in an assisted living facility. I try to see her at least once a week, but what with my disorganized life, it was two weeks this time. And she gave me bad news. Her husband fell and broke his hip and is now in a rehab place.

These two people are really two souls united. They don't share a room. He snores and keeps her awake. She gets up in the night and disturbs his sleep, so they agreed to adjoinging rooms. Otherwise they're together. He worries about her. She worries about him. She fell and broke her hip at home. When she went back home, her husband tried taking care of her, but he's diabetic and it was too difficult for both of them. She took it on herself to move to the facility where they live now. He stubbornly stayed in their house until his diabetes became more than he could manage by himself, and he came to live at the same facility. Happy to say, his diabetes is under good control now. Now we just have to wait and see how his rehabilitation will go.

Tomorrow I get a haircut, and later take my cat for her checkup. Between appointments, I'm going to try to visit, even if briefly, my friend's husband.

Then Thursday I'm going to a Leisure League luncheon with entertainment by the local City College Players. They'll be presenting portions of A Midsummer Night's Dream. In costume. These luncheons and entertainment (which is always great) cost $4.00. Where else can you spend an afternoon with friends, have a delicious luncheon and be entertained so cheaply?

The comes Friday and preparation for Shabbat.

Where has the time gone?

And my house is still a mess.

Shalom.

"A Midsummer's Night Dream" is one of my favorite Shakespearean plays. I love Robin Goodfellow. I trust you will have a great time!
Hurray for you getting things on your To-Do list done! *Clap clap*
I am sorry to hear about your friend's fall. Yes, they do sound a most loving couple. I think assisted living facilities are a good idea especially for senior citizens who need round-the-clock medical care and can no longer be living independently. Hip fractures frighten me. My friend Hamish's father broke his hip two years ago. The family doctor has told the family to take it easy as there was not much more he can do for Hamish's Pop.
    That saddens me very much.
Take care and have a good time at the play, Chaya!
    Love,
    E.L.

they sound like an incredible couple
i'm always looking out for love stories like theirs in the local newspaper as its a common thing for them to write stories of couples who have not only survived the years but triumphed in marriage. there is always a picture of the couple to go along with the story
