Prayers, please
Wed Nov 18 2009

About two weeks ago, my sister Marian had back surgery for a slipped disc. She was doing very well until about 4:00 am today. She woke up then, but when she tried to put her feet to the floor, excruciating pain hit her. She had an MRI this afternoon, but won't have the results until tomorrow (morning, we're hoping). She is on 600 mg Percocet, and it dulls the pain somewhat. When I talked to her about 3:00pm, she wasn't feeling too bad, but the pain was there. Lurking, like pain does.

The Jewish way of prayer for a sick/ailing/needy person is name, bat (for female) or ben (for male), mother's name--Miriam bat Frieda, but please pray for her recovery any way you're accustomed to praying. I'm being an alarmist, I know, but I'm afraid she may not be able to walk again. And I'm thinking she may need a second surgery.

I met with a group of women for Rosh Chodesh (celebrating the New Moon) this evening and offered Marian's name then. Now I'm asking my friends to add their prayers.

Heartfelt thanks.
