I miss my waterbed
Mon Oct 04 2004

Well, here it is -- dark thirty-- and I can't sleep. Every time I turn over, I find a cold spot in the bed, and it wakes me up. Then I have to wait till my own body warmth will warm the spot. And I even have flannel sheets on. Plus two blankets.

I bought one of those electric beds some time ago. Thought I might sleep better during a seige of bronchitis because I could raise the head of the head. Pillows didn't quite do the job in the waterbed, and I'd frequently spend the night in my reclienr. Which is OK, actually, as I frequently fall alseep there, anyway.

But it hasn't worked out quite the way I expected. In the first place, the bed has no heater, and the waterbed was a constant temperature. I'd turn up the thermostat a notch in the winter, and put blanket on. In the summer, I'd turn down the thermostat and use a sheet, or maybe no cover. And the bed was the same temperature no matter how many times I turned over.

In the second place, I still get up and sleep in the recliner when my chest hurts.

So here I'm putting out all this money every month paying for something I don't even enjoy. I was fun, sort of, when I first got the bed and turned on the massager, but that wore off too.

I miss my waterbed.

Anybody want to take up the payments on a nice, double size electric bed? I'll even throw in two sets of flannel sheets and a pair of pillows.

Shalom
