Missy and Banshee have visitors. In order of age, we have Banshee, Moose (Moustache), Missy and Windigo.
Moose is black and white. Has a white nose with a black moustache. However, the moustache isn't even. One side is larger than the other. Gives him a Groucho Marx look. I have noted, also, the Moose's moustache is like Missy's only reversed. Missy's is white on a black nose.
Moose has been accustomed to prowling at night, and he's loudly protesting his incarceration at night. Incarceration is the proper word. He's in the back room, with the windows mostly closed, and the door closed. As long as there is anyone of the Closes-And-Opens-Doors classification around, Moose will whine and complain. But when he's behind a closed door, he settles down. And the window needs to be closed because he'll try to take out the screen.
Windigo is a darling little gray tabby. Her golden eyes are outlined in white. Instead of stripes, she has spots. She's been giving Missy a well-earned turn-about. By that I mean, Missy is being paid back for all the tricks she has played on Banshee. They are so cute playing together. Sometimes the play takes on a more urgent look, but so far no blood has been shed.
Banshee is jealous of Missy, I think. But he's taken to Windigo. I watched him play with her. and it was funny. He looks like a great, galumphing ox next to her delicate 3-month-old body. But watching him try to play with Windigo was a Good Thing.
Moose is shy. He's beginning to warm up to me. At least, he lets me pet him a stroke or two. I'm one of the Closes-And-Opens-Doors people, so he's sort of OK with me. He's shiney black with white boots. A good looking young man.
I think when Tracey and Gryffan get their own place, Missy and Windigo will have to have play dates. I think they'll miss each other when they're separated.
Only thing is, Missy will probably go back to tormenting Banshee.
*sigh*
Oh, shoot!! Even the smiley icon is bringing up the PopUp Block.
*double sigh*
Bless the day

I personally, [for once] am not having any issues with DD today or at all in the last few days for that matter.
Hmmmm... - From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Thu Aug 09 2007Yep DD's been running really slow lately and I've noticed on the opening page that the server load has been in the red zone several times lately *sigh*
- From:Dreamerbooks2003 (Legacy)On:Thu Aug 09 2007I have written to Steve and asked what is up.. Sometimes he can straighten things up.. but it could also be something to do with his server...
not sure if he is changing things again or not.. He hasn't stated that
That is cute about setting play dates.. 4 cats in one house with 3 adults and a baby.. *(pending)
phew.. I think you are doing wonderful to enjoy the kitties playing.. I'd probably be tearing out my remaining 4 hairs
- From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Fri Aug 10 2007RYC: I use a bluing agent in the water which is sort of like fishy sunblock. It cuts down on the UV rays and also lowers the water temps to tolerable levels for them.
Any chance of getting copies of those pics? I'd be happy to reimburse you the cost of having them copied.
Hugs - From:Ksmiley (Legacy)On:Fri Aug 10 2007I have noticed a lot lately that DD has been slow and not just today. It has been running slow at this end here.
- From:Mamallama (Legacy)On:Fri Aug 10 2007Awwwwwwwwww! I love kitty stories.
Thanks for sharing.
DD has been a little slow for some time now.
Don't know what's up.
Hugs, Tiggs - From:Dreamerbooks2003 (Legacy)On:Fri Aug 10 2007The mining debate is a worthy subject for sure - maybe some dialog will come of this at least!!
Is is so dangerous.. the majority of the miners are imports.. (*from Mexico) at least here.. They probably work under those conditions because it is a good living wage. But look at the real cost..
This is not the first disaster in this same mine .. there was a fire some years back that killed miners
West Virginia has all kinds of disasters every year
it is horrible.
I have trouble in elevators also.. but this cave Mike took me into was the most frightening thing I've ever done.. I can't even scuba dive .. I wonder why some people are comfortable with it while others of us can't even think about it without an increase in heart rate?
Oh - I saw a report some time ago on mining in Peru that made me sick.. Little boys start working the mines at such a young age and the life expectancy is so short since they develop black lung and other health problems - even if they survive the mine itself.
Pretty grim stuff
