Joyful reunion
Sat Mar 05 2005

I just came home from a wonderful visit with a friend who used to be a neighbor. Her daughter and my granddaughter were best buds while they lived next door.

Some of you reading this will remember Carla. Hearty laugh, positive outlook on life, hard worker, big plans for the future. A wonderful person, and a precious friend. I do miss her.

Anyway, she's in town for a weekend seminar and took off an hour and a half (skipped a class) to visit with me. I met her downtown at the hotel where she's staying, and we laughed and reminisced about the past and brought each other up to date on our latest activities.

She doesn't write letters, I don't write letters, we don't do much in the way of email, so there was a lot of catching up to do. It was an altogether wonderful time, and now I'm going to miss her some more.

She's planning on coming back, with her daughter, for my birthday celebration, which tentatively is set for the 5th of July. Who wants an invitation?

The asthma seems to be under control (thank you!). Potato chowder is in the crock pot, the challah is ready, and so I guess I'm ready for the Sabbath. As soon as I set up my candles.

Nice day, windy, but not cold. Rained last night, and I believe more is expected. So I guess I'll go do some reading until it's time to light my candles.

Shabbat shalom.

Oh my I'd love to come! I doubt I'll be able to do much this year, however. Wah.

Glad the asthma is much better!

    Mmmmm, potato chowder, sounds yummy.

I remember you talking about Carla before, I'm so glad you could get together.

    Happy weekend!
    *hugs*

I know my health problems and inactivity didn't help with my weight gain, but I sure have a problem with relying on food for comfort. I have to kick that habit well and good.

The bulgeblaster site is sort of a main link page, which I will update with diet related stuff. I have another site called 'Radiance' which is my personal weight loss journal. There's a link in my dropdown. There, I will write my own struggles and triumphs as I go along. You can create another diary for yourself that just focuses on your weight loss too by going to the Dear Diary homepage and then click on 'Join Us' under the Navigation heading. You just make up a diary like you did this one only with a different name. Now you can decorate it easier too if you pick a theme in Customizer under the General Diary Options, then 'Theme'.

Have fun! And that's how it all starts I think . . . by an illness or injury or just plain circumstances where our lifestyle is disrupted, we are less active than usual and then we gain a bit and start feeling sluggish and there the whole domino effect begins. Good to put a stop to it as soon as possible!

Did you get the Yogalites DVD from Sheryl? She sent me one. I am going to have a look at it and see if I can't get started on that. She sent me some others but this one is more for beginners I think. I can copy it and send it to you if you like although I'm not sure your state of health will allow you to do it yet. Let me know.

Lots of love! And I'm kinda excited about the bulge blasters, I hope it gets a big response as it could be a lot of fun.
