I am commanded to present myself to my daughter during the 4th of July week in Vancouver, WA.  She is taking vacation days so she can show me around, and celebrate Independence Day at Fort Vancouver.  It's a really big show, she tells me.

I need to check airfares, and I noted in today's papers that they are going up because of gas prices. I suppose I should lock in a reservation before the prices do some more skyrocketing, but frankly, I can't do a thing until I get my "stimulus" check from Georgie.

I like to fly Southwest, but Megan tells me that Alaska is better. I dunno.  I love the Southwest personnel. They have fun, so the passengers have fun.  But I'll check both.

Tracey called this morning. Everything is fine with them and My Baby.  She's trying to crawl. Can't quite get the mechanism, but she'll figure it out, then watch out!!!  She says Gryffan is being kept busy being House Husband and Daddy.  Welcome to the Club, Grandson!

    We're hoping to get down to Vancouver for the 4th this year, but Sears may have other plans for me. I won't know until the week before the 4th unfortunately. Which reminds me, I need to find our camping chairs so we have them to take with us.

    Have fun, & bring lots of sunscreen if you go early and a sweater for the evening if you stay for the fireworks.

    I don't like to fly, but.. I always try to get a reservation early.. you save by buying your seat 2 weeks in advance..

    I fell off the garden ledge.. Standing.. Oh don't ask.. went to ER for mother's day and got a walking splint.. nothing broke. but a good strain, all the way from knee, down leg, under foot, around ankle.. OUCH.. I can't drive with this thing on my foot..

    Dear Chaya,

    I pray that when I get to your age, I can still stand upright. I am not so ambitious as to be flying across the country, driving my own car and looking after great-grandchildren, as you are. You are amazing. They should interview you for a women's magazine or local newspaper or something. You can speak up against ageism.

    That aside, Vancouver would be a lot of fun! You are so going to enjoy your trip.

    Re Your Questions:
    (i) Headaches were due to a sinus problem. My ear nose and throat were blocked and it affected my vision and balance.
    (ii) Neck and shoulder pains due to prolonged hours of sitting hunched in front of a computer at work in a chair that is the wrong height.

    I'm not going to die on you yet, my friend! ;o) Still hafta come over to Sacramento and spend a week with you.
