Now it can be told.
I'm gonna be a great-grandma. Well, that's not exactly news, being a g-g already 8 times, but this one is special. This is Gryffan, my darling grandson out of Megan and his lady Tracey. It'll probably be a Saggitarian, and Gryffan should be able to handle that, having dealt with his mother. But I don't know about Tracey. I wish her the best. Being a mommy of a Saggitarian ain't easy, lemme tellya!!! Oh, I already did that, .didn't I.
Gryffan has been having sympathetic pregnancy problems, so when I say "they" are pregnant, it's literally true. He's been nauseated, had cravings, can't stop eating, has to be near a bathroom at all times. Could a girl have a more sympathetic partner? Oooh, just wait till labor starts.
I had a LOUD message on my phone that I couldn't understand. When I called Gryffan back and asked him what that sound of jubilation was all about, he said "I heard the baby's heartbeat." Well, that surely is something to be jubilant about, especially the first time. Eh?
I have an idea to throw out there amongst my readers. How about a cyber baby shower? If I were to invite you to a baby shower for the as-yet unborn child, what would you bring? Keeping in mind, of course, that grandma gets to buy the crib. I don't know where to find a 36-hour clock, but I'd throw that in, too.
Oh, and a little advice to the new mommy and daddy would be in order. I'm sure there's a treasure-trove of advice you all have to offer. From your own experience. And don't hold back on the sour experiences. They need to know that, too. And then give thanks when it doesn't happen.

In other news: I'm getting better. Not well, just better than yesterday. Coughing a lot, but the fever is gone, and I'm looking forward to life again.

- From:Mamallama (Legacy)On:Fri May 18 2007I'm so sorry you're not feeling well, but glad you are getting better.
A cyber shower. That sounds interesting. I'll bring a cute party favor I always make. Whoever wins gets a nice door prize. It's not a game. I'm not one for games, but this is cute.
Congratulations on the new family member! How exciting!
Hugs, Tiggs - From:404Error (Legacy)On:Fri May 18 2007Well, congratulations!!! I'd definitely be into the cyber baby shower, and holy cow do I have some rough stories to tell about being a new mother! I suppose I'd get them some of the things of which I felt I never had enough. I'd tell you, but I think it's supposed to be a surprise.
- From:Parett (Legacy)On:Fri May 18 2007What a good idea! It never would have crossed my mind.
When my girlfriend got married(years ago) and moved to another state and got pregnant we had a baby shower by inviting her friends and family but brought the gifts unwrapped so we all had a chance to see what she received. We wrapped them and readied them to mail in a large box. After that we had cake and punch and everyone had a chance to speak with her on the phone during that time. It was a novel idea to me and I haven't been to another one like it.
I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well! :o[
Hope you are feeling perky soon!
Please tell me about Sagittarians. My B-Day is the second of Dec. and I'm not sure what the characteristics are. I would love to know the good and not so good if you could give me a brief synopsis.
Congratulations, by the way! - From:Dreamerbooks2003 (Legacy)On:Fri May 18 2007Oh, how exciting.. I agree with Sag children not being easy.. My GS is just that!!
I was married to a sag also..!! NOT SMART of me..
I will think on this babe shower..
i'm about out of advise ~
But I would bring the mom a rocking chair.. ;/
and the dad, one of those backboards to take babe on walks with him, and for the babe.. I guess a bright colored paper mobile of butterflies and other critters of the earth .. - From:Waterspriteflying (Legacy)On:Sat May 19 2007Oh, how wonderful! Congratulations and joy!
My youngest is a Sag, and is such a joy. OTOH, so is my ex-husband! One thing about them, they can be completely tactless, or bluntly honest, but there's something utterly charming in the wy they do it!
I think a cyber shower is a great idea. s to what I'd bring...wil we know in advance whether it's a girl or boy?
Congratulations again!

The Pollen here is all most slowing down as most
trees have done there thing but it was a cool 34 this morning.
maybe I will just take a day off and see if ole body will recope a tad. Glad you are better so take care. - From:Parett (Legacy)On:Sun May 20 2007RYC: Yes, I'm sure I do have a number of those characteristics. My family calls me a 'micromanager' although it is only because my intentions are to help. I know that I can be tactless too, but if I ever say anything that sounds hurtful it is not deliberate. I try very hard not to offend but I must say that my family would tell you that my attempts aren't too successful when it comes to them. My desire is to be righteous and to live the first two commandments. If that is happening it is only because of God's grace.
Take care and thanks for your comments!

I am intrigued by what you said about Sagittarians. I am one. I've never heard anything negative about us Centaurs before.
