Scanner
Tue Jul 26 2005

I have a working (almost) scanner now. Gryffan did all the set-up and installation, and now I have to install the browser. He says it's really simple, pretty much idiot-proof. Well, we'll see.

There's no owner's manual with the scanner, so I'll have to do trial and error before I find out how to move pictures from the scanner to DD or email. Anybody out there who can give me a tip? There's a Copy button if I just want to copy something, and there's a Custom button which I'll have to investigate. Gryffan says to put something black (or dark colored) over the picture being scanned because it makes a clearer picture.

I've been asked to show some of my artwork, but I have only two pieces left. I've given away everything, except one I actually sold. But I do have pictures of my pictures. Maybe that'll work.

We'll see.

Tomorrow is Gryffan's 25th birthday. I gave him a choice of a gift certificate to a bookstore, cash, or dinner. He had to mull over the choices, but he finally decided on dinner, after I told him the restaurant was his choice. So he'll be eating sushi tomorrow. Don't know what's on the menu for me.

Still hot here.

Thursday is going to be a real challenge. KK goes to the Vet in the morning, and Harry has an appointment in the afteroon. The a/c in my car works very well, but it's getting from one place to another that's the problem. After the car has been parked awhile, it does take time for the a/c to cool it to a comfortable temperature.

I know why we have to have summer, but why do I have to endure it? Anybody in Northern Canada willing to put me up for a couple months? Me and my two cats? Ah well, just thought I'd ask.

Shalom

generally a scanner comes with a program or software to use with it. i.e. you open the software, then choose 'scanner' and it activates the scanner so you can preview then scan etc. the software i have with my scanner is arcsoft photoimpression and its pretty good, i can manipulate all kinds of things once i've scanned a shot

    all the best!

do you want me to send you a parcel with a piece of british summer? (rain, flood and generally miserable gray sky)

    Dear Chaya,

Re Your Comment: Flamingoes get their pink pigment from a kind of shrimp they eat. So the white flamingoes obviously haven't been getting enough of that shrimp. Poor babies...

Gryffan is two years younger than I am! I am still older than he is! Nyah hah hah hah! Neener neener neener! Gryffan is a kiddo!

Oh while he's at the sushi, maybe he could bring your two kittycats along, too? I'm sure they would appreciate the sushi treat. All cats and dogs should get to try regional cuisines and slow food every once in a while. Murphy tried paella before. And Chloe has sampled an escargot. Banshee and KK should get to try sushi and sashimi.

Speaking of scanners, a friend 'borrowed' mine and I haven't seen it since. That'll teach me a lesson about being too trusting and too willing to let other people have my things. Ah well.

Happy Birthday, Gryffan. Hope your week is going well so far, Chaya.

Love to Banshee and The Krazy One.

    Hugs & Love,
    E.L.
