Just complaining
Sun Nov 16 2003

Last night was a bad night. Couldn't sleep in spite of having taking my med that usually knocks me out. The legs were restless. The muscles cramping. Not a really bad charley-horse, but bad enough.

When I finally did get to sleep for awhile, my bladder demanded attention.

So back to bed, and snuggle down. Nope. Got up and took two super Tylenols.

Finally got back to sleep, and woke up at 8:00-something. Staggered (literally) out of bed, and decided, nope, need a little more sleep. If I get up at 9:00, I can get dressed, have some tea and a banana, and get to shul on time.

Nine o'clock rolled around, and I got out of bed again...well sat on the edge of the bed and decided I still wasn't awake. I finally woke up again about 11:30, and by this time it was far too late to try to get dressed and go to shul. I'd get there toward the end of the service, and then in time for Kiddush.

So, no, I didn't get to shul today. I expect my week will reflect the lack of spiritual uplift that gets me from one Shabbat to the next.

One of the women--a friend--came by to see if I was OK. Sorry to have missed today, as the Kiddush was in celebration of their wedding anniversary. I didn't realize that until I finally checked my email. Will have to send her (them) a congratulatory note.

That's it for today. G'nite all. Shalom

Oh, those lo-o-o-ng nights! They really muck up your days, don't they?
Our hot weather is here at last, so I keep a fan on all night.
You must be having the opposite... especially without your heater! Hey, I've got my dollar ready to send to you. It's Australian, but every bit helps. *smile*. Hope you get a proper sleep tonight.
    Love from Thubten

I've just been catching up with you. I didn't see where you've had a solution to the heat problem? I hope all is warm and toasty where you are. Well, the bread baking at least helped in that regard?

It is most certainly hard on arthritic fingers. Is the bread maker fixable? I do hope so.

Sounds like you are riding a wave of just plain bum luck lately.

Better days are ahead, surely. Rest well, for me that always helps.

Take care and much love. *smile*

It is a shame that we oldsters only have restless nights and pain to look forward to lol. Maybe it is because you sleep so late :P

    Dear Chaya,
Poor you! Major bummer! I read that as you grow older, you tend to need less sleep, but my parents are approaching 60 (Dad is 60) but they still sleep as much as koalas (up to 20 hours a day). I love my beauty sleep and can't stand insomnia. When I'm drunk I usually have difficulty sleeping because of the sensation of my bladder being constantly full. I hate it.
I hope the rest of your week is restful!
    Love,
    E.L.

    Dear Chaya,
I understand about nights like this and the difficulty in waking up the next day, the painkiller hangover ( and not even the the fun of a party first, lol) and then missing out on doing things we might want to, because it's too late when we finally feel able to start our day.
I hope your pain is improving again by now and that it's a while before you have another such unpleasant night,
Take care, (((hugs)))) and 'bye for now, Kelpie.
