This supposed to be Saturday's entry.
Sun Feb 03 2008

The day started out gloomy and sprinkley.  I saw a patch of blue, briefly. But there wasn't much more to say about the day.

I was supposed to sit with the girls this evening, but all kinds of plans took shape, otherwise.  Lynn went on her date, as planned, but I got a frantic call from Caitlin about a Bar Mitzvah party she was supposed to go to. Also that Nicole was away on a sleep-over.

So I spent two hours driving in the rain.   One hour to the party and drop off, then back home, and then another hour to the party to pick up and drive back home.

I hate driving in the rain!!!  I hate driving in the rain at night even more!!
And then there's the road spray kicked up by the cars in front.  And the windshield fogging up. And the other cars going much too fast for the weather conditions. I feel like I'm creeping along, yet I'm going 50 on the freeway. At night, in the rain, and the maniacs are still driving 70 and 80. Why aren't there more accidents?!

Ah, well, we got home safely.

The concert was Frankie Valli.  Anyone remember him?  Tony Bennett in his 80s is still performing. And I read an article about Tony Martin in his 90s still performing!!  And still married to the still gorgeous Cyd Charisse!

I have a pile of stuff on my bed, and I don't feel like moving it, or doing something with it. So I guess I'll sleep in the recliner tonight.  *sigh*

Bless

I hate driving in the rain, especially at night, too. Can't see that well at night to begin with and you add rain...YUCK!
Glad you made it home safe and sound.
    Hugs, Tiggs

I do not blame people if they do not drive in the rain or at night in the night or in the night period. I do not know why people do not take heed when weather conditions are not good but it is skin of their noses if they get in an accident. As for more accidents, I have no idea why there are not more when someone drives like a maniac or at higher speed than they really should. We have had our share of accidents here this winter with drivers alone and a couple or so deaths along the way. I don't blame you about driving in such hazardous conditions, believe me, and I don't drive myself. I do not like it when a friend of mine drives me from place to place and has to back track because the gas prices are so outrageous for many people these days. I personally hope that your day goes better today with it being Sunday. I will talk to you later. Many thanks for commenting on my journal entries here at DD. I love hearing from you, Pragmatist. I enjoy you being on my list as well.

I don't want you to drive in the rain either, Chaya. I don't think it is safe. Tsk. Girls. Can't miss a party or it'll be the end of their little worlds. Ah well. Another 3 years and she'll be driving herself everywhere, and you won't get to see hair or hide of her. I hope you don't have to go out any more in the rain this week, Chaya.

    Love,
    E.L.

Ended up calling 3 other people to get her number!!! all this from a pay phone that was all static .. finally she rescued me and I had a lovely visit with Kayla.. My Grand-daughter I didn't get to see over the holidays.. and finally got to give her her 11 birthday gift and all.. we had a good time.. and all my older grand-daughter's kids jumping on me..

I HATE driving in the rain. Sometimes the road simply disappears and I'm driving into a void, and just praying there isn't a curve ahead to send me into a ditch. And yes, people drive Way too fast!
