After the VA, we went to the drug store so Harry could get hydrogen peroxide and a medicine dropper. He was told to put 5 drops of peroxide in his ear twice a day to dissolve the blood scab that apparently was interfering with the functioning of the eardrum. I stayed in the car and read my paper while he went shopping. So what did he come out with? A bottle of peroxide and a bulb for washing out the ear.
So I went marching back to the pharmacy and told the tech there that Harry didn't need to wash out his ears. What he needed was a dropper to instill the peroxide into his ear. So she went back to the supply room and came out with, yes! a medicine dropper. No charge. So we had to go to customer service and wait and wait and wait until a very busy customer got all her problems taken care of. Then Harry got a refund on that thing that he didn't want in the first place. That'll teach me to send him in alone.
Next, we went back to Sam's Club and got hot dogs. Yes, I ate one. They're kosher, and Harry was happy.
Then we went to the 99 cent store so Harry could stock up on his cookies (which he couldn't have during Passover), and a few other things. I didn't need anything, but I went in with him anyway. And came out of the store with eight items I didn't know I wanted. I should NEVER go into a store without a list, or at least a firm idea of what I was going into the store for.
Then I took Harry home. Got back just a little before time to chat IM with my sister. So I didn't have a nap. This is a habit I'd like to get back into. My afternoon nap, that is.
Today was pleasant. Leisure League luncheon, and the food was good. The entertainment was a Mark Twain impersonator, and he was good. Trouble is, my hearing aid has died, and I wasn't sitting where I could read his lips, so I didn't get much of his dialogue. His "wife" was totally out of costume. She looked like a barroom girl, and I know for sure that Olivia Clemmens NEVER looked like that. And her hair was a positive fright!!! I'm going to do some research, find pictures, and try to send them to that lady so she could be more in character. Yeah, I was offended.
I have a friend who is temporarily without a driver license so I picked her up for the luncheon, then visited awhile when I took her home. Had to stop for gas on the way home, as the needle was perilously close to the empty mark.
Got on the 'net for awhile, but started a headache, so I took a brief rest. Didn't quite drop off, but rested enough that the headache went away. I was afraid that if I let myself really fall asleep, I wouldn't be here when Sis logged on for our daily chat. But it was enough.
Then this evening we resumed kabbalah class. I was thoroughly confused about the subject until about the last half hour of the class when the explanations began making sense, and the rabbi pulled everything together.
Tomorrow Harry has another medical appointment, and I hope it will be another in-and-out quickie. When I offered to drive him, I had no idea how much time I was going to be spending on the road.
A word of warning: when you start feeling kindly toward your friend, family, or neighbor, be sure you know what you're getting into.
So now I'm going to read a few diaries, then go to bed.
Oh, yes, the weather. When I was taking stuff out to the dumpster, I looked over toward the mountains and saw what the Texans would describe as a Blue Norther heading our way. Weatherman says rain is on the way. It dripped a little bit today. I'm tired of the dribbling. I wish the storm would come, blow itself out, and go away and let Spring sparkle and be pretty.
Goodnight, and Shalom!
