It isn't the heat....
Wed Aug 30 2006

My hair gets real curly when the humidity is up.

Just got in from my nightly walk around the parking lot.  It isn't scenic, but it's safe.  I try to walk around three times every evening shortly before bedtime.  My clothes were sticking to me after the first walk-around.

So I checked www.weather.com for Sacramento.  It's currently 74o , feels like 74o, with humidity at 50%.  Fifty percent is high for this area.  We're usually in the low teens, or less.  No rain predicted.

So why is it so sticky?

I'm going to go take a cold...er...coolish shower.

Shalom

The thing about the humidity is that the weather stations are usually at airports where there are large expanses of open spaces and concrete and blacktop. This usually means that the temperature is higher, but the humidity lower.

In your neighborhood there are lots of trees which hold in the moisture in the air. Not to mention all the automatic sprinklers that tend to run in the evenings; and then there are the swimming pools. That adds up to a lot of water vapor around your neighborhood.

    Hugs,
    ~Cali

AH I think it is a taste of FALL in the air. It was 39 this morning here in the high country.
Take a early walk as the world wakes for you will enjoy it.

RYN: Yes, I think I can... I searched around and found a couple patterns I think would be nice. Do you want a kind of snowflake-y look or have something else in mind? I'd be honored to make something for you.

The costs for #3, who is in 7th grade (Junior High) this year were quite a bit less. The PE uniform, ASB card and putting some money down on his lunch card (which works like a pre-paid credit card) was only $75. The twins however... the yearbook and ASB card are all one cost, just shy of $100, money on their lunch cards for about a month worth of lunches also $100 (both, not each thank GOD!) and then the lab fees. Both boys are in chemistry this year, and #1 is in a Film production class. They need a certain type of calculator for chemistry in addition to the lab fees, and I've only paid the first of the costs for the film production class. #1 is also taking Advanced Placement History, for which we had to buy additional books that the school doesn't carry as text books.

Who knew parents would need student loans just to get their kids through High School?
