I'm cooking a pot of beans. A large pot of beans. Maybe enough beans for a month.
I need to find all my single-dose storage containers so I can portion out each meal.
Just sampled a spoonful. The garbanzos and barley are done, but the beans need another hour of cooking. I think the soup needs a little more salt because the beans taste flat.
Okay, I added some more seasoned salt. The soup is a little saltier than I like, but the beans should absorb the salty taste. At least that's the plan.
The kitchen sure smells good. If I had some bread flour, I could be baking. Oh, well. Store-bought bread is okay. Not the best like home-baked bread, but okay.
Actually, cornbread is what's needed. But I don't have any cornmeal, either.
Tch!

Must be the calendar.... - From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 08 2008Yum. That sounds wonderful! I'm making a pot of split pea soup as I've got an extremely sore throat and can't fathom eating anything solid though some cornbread sounds really good, too.

Hugs, Tiggs - From:404Error (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 08 2008I've been craving all kinds of slow-cooked foods, but it's still far too hot. We'll talk beans again when the HIGH temperatures are in the upper 60s, not the lows.
- From:Allimom (Legacy)On:Mon Sep 08 2008I like using turnips in my bean soup instead of potatoes, it gives it just a little zip that 'taters don't have.
Do you use turkey ham in your bean soup?
OK, now I'm hungry...

I was trying to do something nice and trying to make amends.
You're probably right. I should just do nothing. That would fix the problem.
