Rain and more rain
Wed Dec 29 2004

If this keeps up, we'll have plenty of water for the summer. For those of you who don't know, this is our rainy season in California. The mountains have a lot of snow, and that's important, for the snow melt in the spring brings fresh water to the rivers and resevoirs. Our "rainy season" if I remember correctly is considered to be from November to April.

We don't normally have rain in the summer. When it does rain, it's so humid we're miserable. This is considered a Mediterranean climate area. Wish I had a nice apartment in San Francisco in the summer, though. It gets beastly hot here in the Valley.

Today was a very productive day, but the "guest" room still needs a lot of work. Rena is coming on Thursday, probably for a week, and her room still isn't fit for occupancy. And I'll be gone all day tomorrow. Maybe I can get her to help by letting her do the shredding while I do the filing of stuff that should have been filed...oh, I don't even want to talk about it!

There's an accumulation of boxes of various sizes because I didn't know what size box I was going to need for various mailings. Those have to be disposed of. If it stops raining for a little while, I can dash out to the dumpster and get rid of a lot of stuff.

I found out that the trunk of my car leaks, so there's some stuff that needs to be rescued and dried out. But it's pointless to open the already damp trunk (boot to you British-English speakers), when the rain is pouring down. Eh?

I wonder where all the energy came from today? If I could figure that out, and tap into it, then maybe my place wouldn't look like a tornado visited.

Ah, well, I've been a slob for years.

Shalom!

ah, the rains are on target then
i hate it when it rains :( gloomy, dank surroundings, and one feels like a caged rabbit
suppose it's good for the ecology though eh :P
i'm an incorrigible slob too. occasionally the madness takes me (as yesterday, in fact) and to preserve my own sanity i clean up around me desperately... only to have it all fall back into disarray in 24 hours

thanks as ever for your note (((chaya))) you're such a mate :)

    love ya!

I was born in Los Angeles and raised in the San Fernando Valley and then Northridge. Boy do I remember the rain. I still have not tackled that spare room either. I keep walking to the door looking around and giving up. It is just overwhelming lol. Maybe this weekend. Good luck!
