My bed is mine again
Sat Aug 18 2007

I am going to sleep in my very own bed tonight. For the first time in three weeks, is it?

The kids are in their own place now.  A few odds and ends and their cats remain, but other than that, my place is my own.  The bed has fresh linens, and is waiting for me.  The recliner has been OK, except for not being able to sleep on my side.  On my back is fine, and I can stretch out.  But isn't it odd that when I sleep in my bed, I can't sleep on my back?

We all have our oddities, and I confess to my share of them!!  Maybe even more than my share.

The kids are moved, yes, but I didn't say anything about organized, did I?  No I didn't.  Their bed is in place.  The sofa is in place in the living room.  The computers are still waiting for their own niche.  Yes, they each have their own computer.  Not all their kitchen gear is organized, as some of the cooking pots are still here.  Well, you get the idea.

Some things need attention from the manager: the toilet leaks; there are no shelf supports in one of the cupboards; the cable wire has not been strung back into the apartment; and let's see, there was something else, but I can't remember what.  The smoke alarm has been disconnected.  It is entirely too sensitive.  Mine has been disconnected for the nine or is it ten years I've been living here.

And with this, I have updated the status of my living quarters.  And with that I bid you goodnight.

Bless the day

Oh yesl, and I renewed the acquaintance of one of Gryffan's long-time friends, whom I haven't seen in about five years.  He's now a teacher, and Gryffan is enrolling in classes this fall with the idea of becoming a teacher.  His grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather would be so proud!!

Wow, a fourth generation teacher! (I know it skipped one, but we just won't count that!) That's really something!

Did you know your father-in-law and your grandfather-in-law? Curiosity and cats and all that rot.

Seems as we age and set in our ways our SPACE becomes more imbedded. Our daily life has a fine line and is not the YELLOW brick road. Funny that at times we are in a RUT and even a small change sets our world in a spin, but we need this now and then for change is good .
Please have a new SMOKE alarm installed.

Company is always wonderful, but it's nice to have our place back to ourselves again, too.
Enjoy the kitties while they are there.
    Hugs, Tiggs

I'm eagerly anticipating stretching out in my own bed tonight - nothing like not being able to use it to make us appreciate it all the more. Sweet dreams!!

    Dear Chaya,

Thank you for your kind words for Walden.

It's good to have some peace and quiet again, isn't it? Although I am sure you thoroughly enjoyed their company and can't wait for them to come over again.

So how many cats are living with you now? I have 3 cats now, and am looking after 2 rabbits for a friend until she comes back from her vacation this weekend. The rabbits are cute but they drive me crazy. They keep eating the newspaper that lines their cage and they keep sitting in their food bowl and getting stuck.

    Love,
    E.L.
