Nature's carwash
Thu Oct 05 2006

We must have had a pretty good rain last night.  When I went out to my car this morning it was clean.  I was thinking about taking it to a carwash. but the rain saved me a few bucks.

When I went walking just before sunset I saw the clouds over the mountains reflecting a gorgeous salmon pink and pristine white.  While we had rain in the Valley, the mountains had snow, and it may even be snowing there now.  I didn't watch the news, so that's only an assumption.

I also saw the full moon rising in all her glory.  Later, when I walked again after dark, I fancied I could see the footprints of man on the surface.  And it made me a little sad.  I thought the lovely Selene should be inviolate.  Indulging in a little romantic fancy there.

Nights are cool and crisp, and I have to close some of the windows.  The afternoons are nice, and the windows are all opened again.  Haven't seen much color change yet, except for some bright yellow leaves.  The various shades of red aren't showing yet.

I love this time of year, but I'll be complaining in another couple months about the wet and gloom.  Stay tuned.

Shalom

I'm really enjoying the change of seasons, too. Earlier than usual, thankfully. We earned it with that horrible July we barely survived!

As for the free carwash, I wish I would have thought of pulling my car out of the carport to take advantage of that. I didn't, and my car has clean dots and dashes in the dust on the passenger side, but evenly dusted on the driver's side. *sigh* I guess this means a hosing off. It hasn't even been two weeks since we washed it, either.

    Hugs,
    ~Cali

the footprints on the moon...ahhh...maybe one day in future ppl will be taking rides to the moon to sit and watch in awe our beautiful planet Earth...I can imagine how popular this could be with the lovers :-)

How nice to have some rain, we barely had a few drops. I too love the FALL and nature puts on her color show to last us through the dreary winter.. It does have a Romantic spell, as I remember cool cuddling Hay Rides under a Harvest moon so long ago . It was so special with fresh hay and a horse drawn wagon that seems to have faded in todays world. Sad for it stirs so many good times.

I wouldn't mind a little rain but can't complain. The air is cool and crisp this evening. I love this time of year!

    Dear Chaya,

Looks like you're having a spot of pleasant weather! I love your descriptions of nature. It reads like poetry to me.

Re Your Comment: So sorry to have to disappoint you, Chaya, but that's not a mountain, it's part of a tent. It's a white tent, one of many that we put up on the beach resort grounds for our birdwatching exercise.

Hope you're having a great week!

    Love,
    E.L.

I know that feeling. It feels like it's rained just about every day here since the end of September. We've had floodings in the Valley and just recently in Seward and Valdez. It's sad to say my car is clean but I wish it would snow so the flooding will stop.

Hope all is well with you my friend.
    Huggs,
    Cyndi
