Summertime, and the livin' is easy.....
Wed Jun 23 2004

Yep, it's summer here in good old Northern California. The temp is in low 90s with low humidity, so it's quite pleasant.

Actually, my apartment is cool. The owner installed new double-paned windows and sliding patio doors, and it's amazing what a difference it has made. Being sheltered from the direct sun by an upstairs apartment helps, too, and there's a nice big tree that shades my living room most of the afternoon. But the new windows have made a huge difference. Thank you, Mr. W.

Well, now that I'm back, I suppose there's lots I could write about to catch up on what's been happening, but, frankly it isn't all that interesting.

I managed to sprain my foot about two weeks ago, then last week I did something to my back which laid me up, and that's about exciting as it gets here.

Next month I'm going to SoCal to visit a few days with my son, and spend a couple days with my granddaughter who is financing the trip. And...I get transported from home to the airport by...lim oh zine! I asked about shuttle transportation, and she told me forget about it. Man! I'm living high! But if I get too snooty about it, I have a daughter, a son, and a grandson who will bring me back down to earth. Crashing.

It was so nice to read the welcome back notes y'all sent me. And especially from someone I didn't know reads my squibs. Yes, I know who you are because I've seen your comments on other diaries we both read. Maybe it's time to add you to my "friends" list?

I'm making progress on catching up. I'm down to 6 pages from 18 when I logged in yesterday for the first time in over a month. As I mentioned yesterday, I just arbitrarily deleted the whole month of May; no pick-and-choose--just everything. I've IM'd with a couple people, and back with my sister on our daily chats. Ooooh!!! it feels so good to be back in touch.

OK, so now I'm going back and read some more mail. But first to the Post Office mail box. Probably nothing of interest, and most likely a bill or two, but I have a high curiosity quotient, and I can't just not go check the mail.

Shalom, friends. Chat with you tomorrow.

SoCal in July? Yuck! I'm much more inclined to head to Alaska when hot weather hits down here, but then, that is where my family is. Were they in SoCal I would insist on January visits!

    Dear Chaya,

It is so good to hear from you! I can't tell you how good you made me feel with your loving comments about my little Chloe. I am so glad you could view the pictures. I was afraid that you were not able to copy and paste and see the pictures in color.

Baensidh sounds precious! I wish we could arrange play dates for Baensidh and Chloe. Sigh... if only we lived close by each other. Chloe too has a tendency of hitting her toys under furniture and I have to swipe her toys out with a ruler because she meows for them so. Tee hee! Darling cats!

Hurray for summer! I like how contented and optimistic you sound! Ooooh, a limousine! Isn't that just a verrry loooong car? *Chuckles* I'm cynical! Oh, I am so excited for you that you get to go visit your son! I didn't know you have a granddaughter that old! I thought that Rena is the oldest! Well, I guess I thought wrong! :o) :o)

    Love & Hugs,
    E.L.

    Kitten kisses from Chloe!
