Does anybody know the rest of the words to the hymn that starts:
Bless this house, O Lord, we pray....
??
And the musical notation thereto?
Shalom

Bless this house, Oh Lord we pray
Make it safe by night and day
Bless these walls so firm and stout
Keeping want and trouble out
Bless the roof and chimneys tall
Let thy peace lie over all
Bless this door that it may prove
Ever open to joy and love
(Bless these windows shining bright)
(Letting in God?s heavenly light)
Bless the hearth, a-blazing there
With smoke ascending like a prayer
Bless the people here within
Keep them pure and free from sin
Bless us all that we may be
Fit Oh Lord to dwell with thee
Bless us all that we, one day, may dwell
Oh Lord, we pray

I've always enjoyed ballet more than opera. It tends to be more subtle

YES !!!!! I Caught the Vienna Philharmonic also and COULD NOT TURN IT OFF !!!! It was sooooo BEAUTIFUL. What a wonderful gift . . . I am so happy also to have simply happened upon it.
It was even better than gourmet chocolate . . . and THAT is saying a lot!

Oh, the baleet sounds WONDERFUL! It's so lovely to get to experience things like that through others, even when we don't get to be there in person.
Handfasting: It used to be the way you got married, period, a long time ago. When you read in the romance novels about people running off to Gretna Green, that's what they were going to do. Often it was the village blacksmith who did the honors. The church and state didn't get into the act until practically modern times.
Bruce and I had a ceremony using different colored cords for each part of our vows. To tell you the truth, I don't remember what colors represent which things, but we had blue, green, white, gold, red, and purple.
It isn't a legal marriage, of course, but it's the best we'll be able to do until they legalize bigamy!
Hugs,
Ani

I love classical music too, especially baroque. My favorite ballets are by Tchaiovsky and Mozart.
Google is the way to go even when looking up the lyrics to obscure advertisement jingles.
All the best with the jigsaw puzzle! I will send you a little batik painting kit when the crafts market stocks it again.
Lots of Love to the Kitties!

Dear Chaya,
I've viewed the picture of your calligraphy set! Thank you! Do you know that they have calligraphy primers for Chinese schoolchildren? These are little exercise books with grids and chinese characters etched in. You use your ink and brush set to copy the characters, stroke by stroke, onto the blank grids. The grid lines help you gain a sense of proportion so your characters will be of even size. I can send you one if you like, when I get the batik painting set too. The primers are cheap, only about US0.50, so don't worry about my shopping and postage costs.
Love,
E.L.

Sell our stuff?! Oh, my.
No, actually, we're seriously considering selling off several of the collections that have ceased to interest RC. I just have to get off my arse and create the ads, lol.
Love,
Ani

Next year, I'm going to go to the Bluegrass Festival, with our without RC. pffft. On the other hand, Craig, at band practice today, said Emmy Lou wasn't her usual stellar self. He didn't even stay through her entire set. So maybe I didn't miss as much as I thought, huh?
