The laundry piled up over the past few weeks to the point that it was threatening to overwhelm me. It had already overwhelmed the laundry baskets. So I gathered all the sheets and towels. The personal laundry had been done regularly out of necessity.
I went to the grocery store to get some quarters, but when I got to the laundromat, I found that the machines didn't take coins. The attendant took my $10 roll of quarters and gave me a credit-card type of plastic in the amount of $10. Such card was inserted in a slot in the machine. The machine debited the card for the amount of money it required to do the job I was asking it to do.
The washers, being commercial size, did in two loads what would be four loads here at home. The dryers are super-commercial size, and one took both loads of wet laundry. And I have $1.60 left on my laundromat credit card.
My next sortie to the laundromat will be with all my blankets. I figure another $10 credit card will do the job.
However, there may be a problem of storage of the blankets, because when I got home with the clean, neatly folded laundry, I found that I don't have enough shelf space for everything.
I challenge anyone to find a better reason for not doing laundry.
