I'm addicted!!!!!!!
Fri Mar 14 2003

I can't believe I'm saying this. I'm addicted to the internet. MSN shut down sometime before 10:00pm last night and wasn't available until about 3:00pm this afternoon.

I called tech help and was told they were doing some repair and upgrading work, but couldn't tell me how long it was going to take. I got a little snippy with the dear boy, I think, and he transferred me to customer service. Who was just as much help.

When I couldn't log in last night to do my pre-bedtime check of mail, and do my electronic crossword puzzle, I was a little upset. But, oh well. When I tried to log in the morning and I STILL couldn't get in, I want you to know that I felt deprived--deprived, I tell you--of my reason for living!

So, I went ahead and made a pot of tea, had some breakfast, read the paper, and tried again. That's when I called tech help.

So I bit the bullet, showered, dressed, and went out to do my weekend shopping, and fill the car's gas tank before the price goes up again. When I got home, I decided to try again, just in case. WHOOPPPEEEE!! I'M IN!!!

Well, dearies, I have over 50 messages to get through, and it's not going to get done today. So my DearDiary friends, reading and comments will have to wait until Sunday. The Sabbath is rapidly approaching, and I still have things to do.

Looks like we might get that big storm after all.

Y'all have a glorious weekend.

Isn't it *lowering* to know how dependent we are on this whirring box and glowing screen ?

But hey, it's low calorie and not immoral, (at least the way we do it) so things could be worse.

I hear you about the gas.

I was going to get some the other day when it was 2.11 a gallon but I was hoping it would go down.
Well, when I finally DID get some only a week later, it was 2.36! Dear dear. My driving has been severely curtailed and will remain that way for a while I bet.

    Good Shabbos !

    Hi,
The internet is an interesting tool, is it not? Where else can we, in North America, talk to someone in Australia that we have never met? Where can we look up 'corpse flower' or the the kama sutra without leaving our homes?

I am glad you are enjoying it, and I am glad you are enjoying DD.

    Take Care,
    Bobbi

I'm with you about how trying it is when our access to the net is cut off for some reason. I have a cartoon which sums it up well for me. It shows a bloke hugging his 'puter tightly and the caption says: "I love my computer because my friends live in it" *smiles* Take care and 'bye for now, Kelpie.

MSN is so frustrating. I know it is free, but they sure don't attempt to keep their "customers" informed of shut downs. I gave up on it several months ago.

RYN: Willie is a 7 month old black lab, part shepherd, who belongs to my neigbor. She is a teacher and gone all day, so you might say he is in my care most of the time. Duke and he love each other except when it comes to food...then it is may the best man win.

I have SOOOOOOO been there! I hate it when it happens. I actually go through withdrawals. Don't even try talking to me when we lose our connection, I will snap at you so fast! *smile*
